Today for Victoria’s birthday she got her friends and family to come help us sort and organize through donations! Such a generous way to give with her time in honor of her birthday! . . We can’t do what we do without community so thank you ladies and thanks to @rhoades_m who is one of our clothing directors who gave up her Sunday to help head this up! May is National Foster Care Awareness and so it seems only fitting that this month’s nonprofit spotlight supports foster children and their families. Garage of Hope is a garage full of all sorts of clothing, toys, baby items and other household goods for Foster families to use when children enter their home. The organization, based in Wesley Chapel, FL, runs completely on donations of goods and financial gifts. Since, March of 2018, Garage of Hope has been reaching out to foster families to help supply them with the things they need when foster children enter their home. Foster children more often than not come with little to nothing when they enter a foster home. It is also not uncommon for children to come to a foster home at weird hours of the day. Organizations like Garage of Hope help to supply the essential things that foster families may need during these times. Garage of Hope is always in need of and accepting donations of children’s clothing and other supplies. Tampa Bay Moms Blog spotlights one local nonprofit each month. Our goal is to bring awareness to our readers with nonprofit organizations that are making an impact in Tampa Bay through their connection and work in the community. ❤️❤️❤️ While the American Heart Association is a nationally recognized non-profit organization, that has been around for close to 95 years, it strives to maintain a strong local presence as well. The Tampa Bay office is located in St. Pete and they facilitate events in our community throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for both cardiovascular disease and strokes. To date, some of the biggest advances in cardiovascular medicine have been made possible, in part, by fundraising and efforts of the American Heart Association.
