🇮🇱Merkava The Merkava is a main battle tank used by the Israel Defense Forces. The tank began development in 1970, and entered official service in 1979. The Merkava was used widely during the 1982 Lebanon War. The tank outperformed contemporary Syrian tanks and proved largely immune to the anti-tank weapons of the time (the AT-3 Sagger and RPG-7) that were used against it. By October 2010, the IDF had begun to equip the first Merkava IVs with the Trophy active protection system, to improve the tanks' protection against advanced anti-tank missiles which use tandem-charge HEAT warheads. 《✠Gepanzerte✠》 The 10.5 cm K gepanzerte Selbstfahrlafette("10.5 gun on armoured self-propelled mount") was a prototype self-propelled gun used by Nazi Germany during World War II. Although it was originally designed as a schartenbrecher ("bunker buster") for use against the French Maginot Line defences, following the defeat of France it was evaluated for use as a tank destroyer on the Eastern Front. It was intended to be used against bunkers at ranges beyond which the bunker could return fire. Development by Krupp began in 1939.
