AU COEUR DU DESERT by Tauer Perfumes So I recently tested and did a review of the classic “L’air du Desert Marocain” and everything I wrote there, applies here but with quite different delivery. This fragrance is dark, rich and smooth with an elegant kind of boldness. LDDM is much louder scent, that wants to be noticed. I’m not talking about projection here (as they both project pretty heavy), I’m talking about the scent itself. If LDDM is the hot dry Sun, then this is the relief felt as the Sun disappears behind the Sandhills. The dry hot air lingers, but the bold burning Sun no longer remains. I saw a question on Facebook the other day asking “has anyone bought a fragrance off a test strip?”. The question wasn’t “should you”, it was “have you”. Predictably almost everybody that answered said “no, I would never do that” . I call BS (but not my point), this is one fragrance I only needed to smell the atomiser to know I had to have it. I don’t know if I could ever nominate one fragrance in my collection as my favourite, but Au Coeur de Desert would have to be dam close.
