I bought my mother this purple poinsettia today for the holidays. See with me, I'm not "too woke" to enjoy and appreciate the holidays, especially Christmas which has always been my favorite. In fact, now that I'm aware of the holiday's true origin and meaning, it makes me appreciate it all the more. Christmas doesn't have its origin in Saturnalia as some people erroneously claim, as that holiday is celebrating Saturn. Christmas is a celebration of the Sun, and has it's origins in Yule which celebrates the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. It is at this point along the Wheel of the Year that the Sun "dies" for three days (sits at the lowest point on the horizon for three days) and then it is "born" on December 25th when it begins to transit higher on the horizon daily and the days gradually become longer. I've always found it weird how folks will become "woke", and then go on preaching against the holidays as if they're some great evil, calling them "pagan". Well, if you're not a Christian or religious, why are you even concerned about something being pagan as if that's a bad thing? That's just one of many examples of these people who leave the church but don't leave the religious mindset. The "pagan holidays" are celebrating Nature and marking points along It's cycle. They deserve to be observed. A bit of information on poinsettias; the legend of it's origin says a child who wanted to present a gift to God for Christmas had nothing to offer except some weeds he gathered from the side of the road. When he sat them in front of the church altar, the weeds bloomed into the large green and red poinsettia we are familiar with today. Native to Mexico, they were introduced to the U.S. in 1825 and eventually became associated with December and Christmas, being nicknamed the "Christmas Eve Flower". So last night I basically wasted two and a half hours watching an "occult" lecture that ended up being nothing more than conspiracy theory. I went into it knowing that the speaker was defending the Flat Earth nonsense which I never usually give the time of day, but since this was a respected "occultist" speaking on the subject rather than a no name YouTube conspiracy theorist, I thought that for once let me hear what they have to say about Flat Earth to see if any science is presented. And of course no science was presented. The only thing presented was conspiracy theory that scientists, from Aristotle to Neil deGrasse Tyson are all involved in this grand conspiracy throughout the ages to trick the world into thinking the Earth is flat. The motive for them doing this of course is never explained, they're just doing this. The most frustrating part about it all is the speaker is highly respected within certain circles of the occult world yet they're not providing the people with any working proof. No formulas, no equations, no experiments, no thesis. Just "such and such is working for the Vatican, and NASA writes their checks, so they lie about the shape of the Earth" lol. The great thing about watching on YouTube that the live audience can't do is fact-check while he's speaking, which I did and found that the few historical facts and quotes he did present were false. I'm not going to call out names because I rather not give said person any more attention nor am I trying to make it personal as I rather call out false teachings than people with my platform. The work usually speaks for itself and charlatans bring about their own demise. Just keep in mind that despite a person's seniority or popularity, they can still be a false teacher with the gift of gab. See if they can show & prove what they talk about. As NaS said, "sooner or later we'll all see who the Prophet is..."
