Symbols of the season. Walking the wheel in my greater grove I witness changes in the environment all the time, cycles within cycles! The Australian landscape is opportunistic and will bud and seed when the conditions allow it. That’s why my relationship with druidry and the sacred eight festivals operate asynchronously. The magic of nature is a fluid space that changes year after year. Whereas the symbols of the sacred wheel follow a process of renewal and transformation fixed by solar and metaphysical events. As a Druid, I become the embodiment of where both cycles intersect, witnessing, integrating, and restoring the balance within and without. These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago on a walk to Hanging Rock near Blackheath in the NSW blue mountains. I spent the day with @juliebrettddu discussing druidry, the work we do, and more importantly why we do it. I call it ‘work’ however ‘action in the now’ is far more apt. We came away from a recent Druid camp feeling renewed, and even more synchronised with the present and our embodied selves in the liminal moment between past and present.
