As I said, this is my take on protein, based on the research I’ve done. You have the privilege to decide for yourself . So if you believe otherwise , all good. We can all still get along . And please, don’t take home the wrong message. I’m not saying protein isn’t important, I’m saying don’t prioritize protein so much that you neglect other essentials that your body needs like carbs, healthy fats, and micronutrients. .
.
The studies and references I share have been around for decades. We just won’t hear about it because it’s in the best interest of the diary, meat and the supplement industry to keep it hidden. And they’d rather market the studies they do themselves( suspects). Adults require no more than 0.8 or 0.9 grams of protein per healthy kilogram of body weight per day. So, someone whose ideal weight is 100 pounds may require up to 40 grams of protein a day. On average, they probably only need about 30 grams a day, which is .66 grams per kilogram. But they say 0.8 or 0.9 because everyone’s different. Specially if they have an active lifestyle. .
.
And for the People concerned about not getting enough protein for their health, you are more likely to suffer from protein excess than protein deficiency. The adverse effects associated with long-term high protein diets may include disorders of bone and calcium balance, disorders of kidney function, increased cancer risk, disorders of the liver, and worsening of coronary artery diseases. Specially , when it comes to animals proteins. .

I have always practiced yoga at home.
I love the freedom of home practice. Practice when, how, and wearing what you want. As slow or as fast as suits your day.
No judgement, no side eye.
That said, I am so glad I've had the opportunity though @bopoyoga with @dearyoga_ to experience yoga in a class setting. I've tried poses I've written off as "too hard" at home, learned new techniques for entering asana and variations. I never would have tried this pose at home.
Is also given me more confidence in visiting traditional (not explicitly body positive) yoga studios, allowing me to expand my practice and experience different teaching styles and forms of yoga I hadn't considered before.
I really wish every fat practitioner had access to safe, friendly studios, because it has changed my life.

Happy Canada day!

So grateful to be living in an amazing country and city. Freedom of expression, a hot prime minister, a mix of nationalities, and health care are just some of the top things that make this country great. That and they legalized weed on my birthday. Even though I rag on Canadian weather quite a lot, I do miss home every time I travel ❤️ I love you Canadialand!

Looking back at all your hard work and wondering if it has been a failure or success. You can’t seem to decide. Shouldn’t you be reaping more rewards by now? Maybe so. But the mind has control over perception. It’s possible your rewards are waiting for you to recognize them. They are not always monetary.

❤️❤️Giveaway!!❤️❤️
You won’t often see my upside down face (especially when I’m in a headstand ), mostly because: 1. Chipmunk cheeks , and 2. My face is usually red from the blood flushing to my head!
But on a slightly different note, one of the reasons why I’ve stopped drinking (almost entirely), is because I get the #AlcoholFlush. It’s not just because my face gets super red and I look like a lobster in photos (I’m not THAT vain ), but it’s the itchiness and discomfort that accompanies drinking because I lack certain enzymes that help me break down alcohol properly.
I’ve stopped enjoying drinking (and I can’t really say that that’s a bad thing,) but there are times when I want to celebrate with friends and family, and have to decide either not to, or end up suffering all evening.
Recently I posted in my stories when I went to PEC with my high school friends to celebrate @emilysquirrel’s last few weeks as a bachelorette, and she introduced me to @getredee, and it blew my mind!
All I had to do was stick this patch onto my skin somewhere, which simply supplies me with vitamins, plant extracts, and antioxidants that help me process the alcohol, and VIOLA! NO LOBSTER FACE. And no itchiness.
I also had so many people ask me about it that I’ve reached out to @getredee, and they’ve so kindly offered to allow me to share their patches to 3 winners! If you get alcohol flush, you have to try this!! #gamechanger

Contest closes at the end of Monday, June 3rd!!
Excited for you to try this out!

.
Children are among the most vulnerable people in the world. For many, their futures are limited by violence, child labour, early marriage, illiteracy and inequality. They fight to attend and stay in school, to be treated with dignity and respect to be safe. Right to Play empowers children to rise above these challenges and find their way back to hope.
