I love looking back at all the different versions of how I’ve chosen to present myself to the world. The older I get, the more comfortable I feel in my own skin and the less I care what the outside world thinks of me. At this point I’m starting to care much more of what the inside me thinks of myself and I wonder what kid Lindsey would say to adult Lindsey today.
I think she’d be proud.

A year ago I was unhappy with my body, my work/life balance and myself. I was afraid to quit my job, to “leave my life behind”, and also afraid of trying and failing. Then one day I decided to stop making excuses and go after my dream.. thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. It was by far the best decision I ever made.

Despite the weight loss I can’t say when I finished my thruhike I was healthy... on the trail I ate Cliff Bars for breakfast, Cheez-Its/Snickers/Spicy Doritos for lunch and beef jerky for dinner.. for pretty much six months straight. My knees still feel the pain of 2,200 miles. I also learned that post trail depression is real and can be challenging when you are trying to stay active.

But I keep planning hikes and adventures to look forward to. I switched to a mostly plant based diet and am trying to live a more minimalist and sustainable lifestyle. These things make me feel happy and proud of how far I’ve come.

I like the girl on the left because she had the guts and the grit to pursue her dreams despite the people that thought they were stupid and not worthwhile. I am trying to be transparent about my “before” because my “before” is important to me. It led to my “after.” Stop letting fear and excuses keep you from living your best life. The only thing you’ll regret is not doing it sooner. ♀️ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

We can all agree #fitness begins with just day#1 no matter where we are in life; be it raising 5 kids full time working, or being grandma and retired, or post shoulder injury after competing in the #crossfitgames ♀️ Talk about a bruised ego & shoulder. What I have learned is there is always time to begin again no matter where you "think" we should be.
Fitness has always been a outlet for me but I never saw results I wanted.
I learned years later we can not underestimate the "seeming" small things that come with invaluable benefits. Although the task such as: moving small weight, mobility, stretching, & even nutrition may seem small and not a major deal to some it is part of building a stronger foundation that allows changes to happen in the body called; you guessed it RESULTS Regardless what your objective is with movement. It is the details with training and nutrition that go hand in hand to build the grit/grind to outlast the competition and the only competition is you!
Today Instead of focusing on heavy lifts,
I warmed up for mobility with 5lb dumbbells and a resistance ban for the win. I typically only lift oly and #powerlifting so it is different for me to switch things up. I am loving the changes made and trusting the process.
My range of motion during and post workout was much more improved than previous times. I am grateful for these resources that in the end will help me be better. I am still learning so I want to share a bit of the process.
#Form is a work in progress always. One thing is for sure #nutrition, is looking mighty fine and I know I will get better with time. You can't out train a bad diet! @fancypantsfitnesswear Thank you love the new gear.

I’m so exciTED to be speaking at @tedxberkeley and share my journey of resilience after 34 surgeries to save my leg from amputation and the diagnosis of #CRPS. I will be sharing the most important lessons of my life, and boy has it been a wild ride!
I am filled with gratitude and so honored for this opportunity to share the stage with so many wonderful speakers and stand on that infamous little red circle rug that sits in the center of every #TEDxstage.
Between fear and excitement, the fear was winning there for a while until I did this: I stopped thinking about the cameras, the lights, and the big stage. I stopped thinking about the packed theater of people. I stopped thinking about what if I tripped, what if they don’t like me, and all the other “what if’s” and completely changed my thinking.
Instead of thinking about the entire crowd, I started thinking about ONE person, ONE heart, ONE mind, and ONE life.
I realized that if I can touch one person’s life in some significant way during my 16 minutes, that’s what it’s all about!

I’ve simplified this definition but I’ve been thinking about this word every single day. It’s a biomusical term but humans experience this on a daily basis.

For the past week, I’ve been waking up my husband by playing my crystal singing bowl and shifting our morning routine with our kids to include sacred sound, chanting and yoga. As the woman of my household, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to use my feminine power at home—how to use entrainment to have a dominant vibration of peace and love run though our environment. My aim is to have sovereignty over our morning routine- the emotional climate...the overall tone in getting ready for the day. Some mornings I am entraining them and some mornings, I’m the one who needs her vibration raised.

Will you be the higher vibration in the room today? Will everyone have no choice but to match your beautiful frequency? Close your eyes...BREATHE...and vibrate even higher. .
