So I tried to sketch Casa Mila this afternoon just as a wild thunderstorm hit. I moved position mid sketch and struggled with wind and rain sheltering under a shop awning. As for the building... I love it a lot but it’s a challenge to sketch. It’s very very easy to get lost. I hope to have another go at it this week.

So I’m no longer obsessed with buying new random art materials for myself - seriously! I’m happy with what I have and know that it takes a lot of time and use to properly assess new materials and tools. But yesterday I had to visit the lovely Sennelier store opposite the Louvre didn’t I? And there are a few things that I’ve wanted to test as I get questions about them. . 1. Sennelier watercolour paints. I bought a 12 half pan set with 6 bonus pans 2. Da Vinci synthetic dagger brushes 3. Museum Aquarelle pencils by Caran D’Ache (more about this soon!)
