We invite the Tucson community to celebrate the first #BourdainDay on June 25th, at Ten55 Brewing Company! We are paying tribute to the man who encouraged us all to travel somewhere unknown and taste something new. We’re kicking off this event with a food special inspired by Bourdain’s love of the Howard Mitchum cookbook, Provincetown Seafood Cookbook. We will be serving up a Portuguese Kale Soup, inspired by a recipe in the cookbook. Using a Portuguese style linguica sausage made by @forbes_meat_company, served alongside bread made with our spent grains by @barriobread. $1 of all specials will be donated to @nami_southern_arizona , the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southern Arizona. In addition to food and beer, we will also be screening Bourdain’s shows all day long, we hope to see you there celebrating what would’ve been his 63rd birthday. Thank you Chef Eric Ripert and Chef Jose Andres for declaring this day, we celebrate his birthday with honor and tribute!

The legend says, Tucson is the home of the best 23 miles of Mexican food in the country as a result, The Tucson 23 Mexican Food Festival was born (organized by @artsaz and hosted by @jwstarrpass). Last Saturday I attended my first and after trying all the food, I have no doubt the legend is true . - I have only attached a couple of my favorite photos from the event, I'll share more on the blog next week. - 1️⃣ How cute were the Mexican candy filled centerpieces?. - 2️⃣@floresconcepts (Charro del Rey, Steak, Vida and Café) put up this colorful table where they had horchata, plantains and some awesome salsas. - 3️⃣Barbacoa taco by @seiskitchen was insane, of course. - 4️⃣Abel and Ivan from @mezcal.carreno.us posing like pros with their insanely good mezcal in hand. Remember them from my pop up dinner from last year?. - 5️⃣Chicken tinga tacos from @reformatucson were delicious...my husband went back several times and they even accommodated mine tortilla-less. - 6️⃣ Jalapeño margaritas by the Grill at Quail Creek were voted best of the night. The black salt rim was soooo good. - 7️⃣ My favorite display of the event was definitely Primo's (@jwstarrpass ) and the food was delicious too. - 8️⃣ My favorite plating was the jicama taco and ceviche in a spoon by The Grill at Quail Creek. - 9️⃣ The ceviche tostadas by @penca were soooo good too, might have been the one I went back to the most . - Not pictured but worth a mention were: @percheronmexicangrill Percheron Burritos, Ceviche from @mariscos_chihuahua and the lavender lemonade from @purelovejuice

I know it isn’t cool to be excited about your own music but I think that’s really dumb. Today I have been excited to literal tears about the new songs we’re working on. It feels like our hearts are in our hands and we get to hand it out. Thanks for being excited with us.

LOOK CLOSE! You just might see pollen covered legs and a tongue! Saguaro blooms abound in the park, as well as the honeybees that pollenate them. Soon these blooms will turn into the fruit that’s essential to the Ha:san Bak Saguaro Harvest and to the festival that celebrates it. On June 29, 2019, the 18th Annual Saguaro Harvest Festival workshop starts a sunrise and attendees will work side by side with Tohono O’odham Tribal members harvesting and processing the saguaro fruits.
