I’d been dying to try @sweetdreamcream in Bentonville and last weekend we finally got a chance to swing by and grab a couple of scoops! He got the toasted honeycomb and the orange sorbet and both flavors were really good. The toasted honeycomb had actual honeycomb in it and the sorbet was a really great balance of tart and sweet orange flavor. I got the salted Oreo and the honey goat cheese and was beyond pleased! The salted Oreo was not very salty but was a really great cookies & cream flavor and the honey goat cheese was everything I wanted it to be and more! I love goat cheese ice cream and this did not disappoint. Try this place out for a fun date spot, reward for the kiddos, treat after the farmer’s market, or whatever reason you need to try some inventive ice cream flavors! Swipe to see their current menu with lots of interesting options!
We visited one of our favorites in Fayetteville last night and got dinner at @leverettlounge. We had a wonderful meal with great service and really enjoyed ourselves! We all just ordered a bunch of different plates so some things aren’t pictured, but in the order featured here we had the “Korean Fried Chicken (KFC),” the “Plum Yummy,” the “Summer Dream,” and the “Mojo Shrimp and Polenta.” The Korean Fried Chicken is honestly incredible and it’s a large portion of delicious food for $13, not a bad price at all! The Plum Yummy was ribs in the most amazing sauce that you just have to try to understand. I know that’s a lame description, but I can’t do it justice. Just go try it. The shrimp and polenta was also yummy with the mojo sauce absolutely stealing the show. The Summer Daydream was a cream puff shell, mocha ice cream, honey whipped cream, and burnt caramel sauce and it was GOOD. That ice cream was smooth and rich and the whipped cream was simply a treat! Also tried were the “Queen Bee” (goat cheese with honey and harissa; my favorite thing to order there), the “Churrasco” (marinated seared beef tenderloin with chimichurri), “Chocolate Chess Pie” (chocolate buttermilk pie with honey homemade whipped cream), and “Vince’s Bee’s Knee’s” (beeswax canelé with honey chamomile ice cream). Seriously, EVERYTHING was amazing. Special shoutout to the honey chamomile ice cream, whoever made this is an artist!! With interesting decor, intimate seating, intricate flavors, and a menu that’s regularly changed and updated with exciting new creations, this place is such an awesome spot for dinner with friends, date nights, etc. We can’t wait to visit again soon!
NEW FAVORITE PLACE ALERT
Beau’s Bayou Smokehouse in Farmington is a Cajun food truck that has some of the most incredible food we’ve ever tried!! Their menu is full of interesting flavors and options and it was honestly hard for us to pick something! We got the boudin balls to start which came with a peach habanero muscadine dipping sauce. Friends, these things are NO JOKE!! Swipe to see the amazing melty cheese inside and how jam packed these are of yummy meat, rice, and seasonings! The sauce that came with these bad boys was what really sold us on this place before we even got our amazing sandwiches. The flavor combination and play between the heat and sweetness make the boudin balls really shine, though it would probably make a tire taste incredible if you poured enough on. He got the Beaucoup Burger (Wagyu beef burger, bacon, extra sharp cheddar, fried egg, red onion confit, and Parmesan peppercorn aioli). According to him, the burger itself was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the red onions added bright sweetness to an amazing savory sandwich. I got the Sweet Dreams Po’Boy which is bacon (made in house, thick, expertly seasoned, not crispy but perfectly cooked, honestly some of the best we’ve ever had), grilled pineapples foster, charred green onion aioli, and Gouda. Y’all, this thing is a masterpiece, but the owner is such a nice guy who told me about how this sandwich is inspired by his mom and it makes me love it even more! The grilled pineapples foster were such a different flavor and texture and we both ADORE their bacon and their bread. This place is a must visit!! The owner is extremely friendly and their food is insane and worth every penny. Check them out in Farmington and be sure to check their Facebook for hours and if they’re closed for events, weather, etc.!
