Sea meets Land explores time through examination of the effects of where the sea connects with the land. The perpetual battle between these two elements forms a damaging relationship, which at times can be minimal but also volatile. With influences stemming from Land Art there is a delicacy present within the execution of the work. Combining interaction with documentation, both natural and artificial structures are represented in this consideration of the protection of our island. Hello its @caitlin_reid2 here as part of @surface.exhibition With my work Beyond the Surface. Beyond the Surface, questions the medium of photographythrough the flatness of the photographic surface. A camera represents the world as flat, through the output of a photograph and compresses the space of the image. Therefore, photographs develop their own material presence as a physical surface. The photograph becomes a window into the subject within, so the surface becomes invisible. I have explored the concept of ‘surface tension’, which is the unnatural flat surface creating this discomfort and uncertainty to make us question the photographic materiality. Hello this is @sash.photography from @surface.exhibition with our final post of the takeover, we would like to thank Spectrum for this great opportunity and helping us share our work. Please do come along to the opening night on the 7th June 5pm - 9pm at the University of Portsmouth Eldon Building or join us between 10th- 14th 10am- 4pm. Here is my series titled Illumination. I have photographed atmospheric skies, which become a canvas that light pollution is projected onto. I highlight the manner in which images of harsh and dangerous pollution have, ironically, come to be seen as sights of great beauty. RECOLLECTION is a photographic practice in which specific spaces have been informed and constructed by the phenomenological recollection of childhood memories. These physical constructions therefore exist as model-based visualisations informed by the primacy of perception.
