This is the last refashion I did a few months ago, when I promised you that if I got a certain # of comments, I’d share a new refashion with you that week. And since I still cannot seem to get myself motivated enough to sew unless I have a deadline or a promise to keep, can we play this game again? For your entertainment and for my sake. This is Sara. She is a freshman at UGA with a major in marketing, and a member of Delta Phi Epsilon. 3 years ago she learned to sew at a summer fashion camp at Community. She has shown her own designs at an upcycling fashion show by the Fashion Design Student Association. Aside from sewing, she also makes jewelry and looms, plays guitar, and loves to snorkel and scuba dive. She just completed her semester long Redesign Internship at Community that included lots of clothing care (steaming, mending, ironing), vintage redesign, and basic clothing construction. She taught an embroidery workshop during Earth Week, and developed pet toy prototypes from our denim scraps. This summer she will be a camp counselor at Winshape Camp in Mount Berry.. . . I recently finished reading The Untethered Soul & now I feel, even more so than before, that life is an intricate puzzle of growth ~ a moment by moment lesson on how we can learn to be more compassionate to ourselves & others. ♡

For today’s #MeMadeMay2019 post - a lil camisole I whipped up this week. I didn’t have any big plans to make this kind of top but when I saw the skirt @goodwillindyin, I knew the cotton linen stripe would make a really cute summer piece. I did a combo of draping and flat pattern making to get the silhouette and made use of the center front and back seams and the hem. It’s drop lined in muslin because it was the closest color I had in my stash.
