Joining #thevintagefashionchallenge and sharing a combine photo for day 1 and 2 - “me in a nutshell” and “throwback Tuesday”. My name is Christine and I’m a vintage loving girl from Sweden. I’m usually not participating in this challenges but I love the vintage community here on Instagram and think it’s a fun way to connect with people that share my passion! I have been interested in vintage since I was a kid and I think a lot of my interest comes from my grandmother. She used to work as a seamstress and during my childhood she made me some amazing clothing from old sewing patterns that I loved. I also watched a lot of old film noirs, screwball comedy’s and musicals and I fell in love with the esthetics, especially of the 30s-40s. I thought the actresses was absolutely beautiful and feminine and it’s still my favorite vintage eras. I also have a soft spot for Edwardian and 1910s fashion. What I love about vintage and antique pieces is the craftsmanship, quality, that it carries a history and the beautiful design. I chose this picture because it really is me in a nutshell- romantic style with lace, big sleeves and a star crown (because my never ending love and obsession with the esthetics in Ziegfeld Girl). ✨

When your front curls won't cooperate, pin them back and add a flower! I rarely wear this blazer - it belonged to my Aunt Corliss. It has ✨ killer ✨ shoulder pads and cute buttons! I didn't find a label and it doesn't seem that one was cut off, so it's possible that my Aunt made it! I'll have to ask relatives. I need to wear it more and embrace the little bits of discoloration!
