Here are my #rsd2019 pick ups. No queuing for me this year as I wasn't desperately in need of any one record, so went out at lunch time and let fate decide! As you can see, I managed to get: Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica The Charlatans - Us and Us Only Idles - Meat/Meta EP Weezer - Teal album Charlie Parker With Strings (Alternate Takes) Overall, really pleased. I found that going with the flow after lunch was much more pleasurable for me than the early start I have made the previous 4 years as I had the time and space to browse properly! It's hard to not get cynical about #rsd now (too corporate, overpriced, not enough pressings to meet demand etc), but it is an important day for our record shops, and the list will always throw out some gems. I went to two shops today, so shout out to the wonderful guys at @heathenchemistryrecords and @hundred_recs for having great record shops that serve their local communities. It was a gorgeous day today in Toronto and made for a wonderful Record Store Day! Here is my haul of #rsd2019 exclusives. I'm quite happy with what I managed to find. And since many stores offer special discounts on their non-RSD vinyl for today, I came away with some other really nice additions to my collection. We hit five stores in the east end of Toronto and had an absolute blast. Now I'm back home, exhausted, happy and spinning some of my new records. Thanks to @mikesmusicto, @kopsrecords, @popmusicto, @dinealonestore, and @tinyrecordshop for helping make this such a fun day.
