We had a couple of special visitors at the #Menil this weekend. When NRG Stadium opened in Houston in 2002, #TheRollingStones were the first to play at the venue. 17 years later, the band returned to an audience of over 50,000 on Saturday night, just one day after #MickJagger's 76th birthday. Surrealism can be disruptive in a good way. __ Really like the surrealism artistic universe of the Cuban painter Wifredo Lam. O #tbt desta semana lembra a exposição “LAM: Gravuras”, primeira individual do cubano Wifredo Lam (1902-1982) realizada no Brasil. Em cartaz de 21 de outubro de 2009 a 3 de janeiro de 2010, a mostra reunia 140 gravuras e 4 desenhos desse expoente do surrealismo. . Além de apresentar o mais importante conjunto de gravuras do artista, a mostra também destacava as séries de ilustrações produzidas para livros de nomes como André Breton, Antonin Artaud, Aimé Cesaire, Ghérasim Luca e Gabriel Garcia Márquez. . As obras cobriam mais de quarenta anos da carreira do pintor e gravador cubano, dos desenhos que ilustraram o livro de poemas “Fata Morgana”, de Breton, publicado em 1941, às últimas gravuras, realizadas em 1982. .
