My problem with Love Island, in a nutshell I read an email on Friday from @jamessmithpt that made me stop dead in my tracks. He wrote: “We are programmed to not think about how much time we have left to live. So that we think we always have time to do the things that will make us really happy. You can use a calculator and national statistics to determine how much time you actually have left with a 'loved one'. It's pretty fucking depressing. If you have a mate you catch up with once every couple months for an  evening, say ‪6pm - midnight‬ That's 6x a year, right. If you're 35. You have just over 52 days left with that person. Ever. That's not even 2 months. The majority of the world... Are wasting their time each day, doing things that aren't even making them happy.” — I’ll let that one ☝ sink in for a minute. Everything in life is about priorities. And what you prioritise today will dictate how every area of your life will look in 1, 6 and 12 months time. Looking at the law of averages, a busy, vibrant, goal orientated person is going to be a hell of a lot happier in the long run than someone who’s addicted to a show. So spend your time mindfully. Instead of asking a mate ‘are you watching Love Island...’ ask them when they’re next free to catch up and do something. Ask if they’ve done anything about that job they hate. Or ask if they’ve started that business they ‘don’t have time for.’ We’ve been given one life to live with passion and purpose. So let’s not take it for granted
