Lubicie Wino? My TAK. I za każdym razem staramy się testować lokalnych specjałów. Łatwo możecie się domyśleć, że podróżowanie po Australii i Nowej Zelandii oznaczało jedną wielką degustację, bo oba kraje znane są z rewelacyjnych win, które słyną na całym Świecie. . . . Mało osób wie, że od jakiegoś czasu piszemy dla branżowej prasy własnie o winach, dlatego staramy się też odwiedzać lokalne festiwale związane właśnie z winem. Tak też było w przypadku Marlborough Wine and Food Festival, na który pojechaliśmy jako prasa :P, gdzie udało nam się spróbować win od kilkudziesięciu winiarzy. To nie będzie dla Was zdziwieniem -> wszystkie nam smakowały, niektóre nas powaliły i trochę za nimi zatęskniliśmy. . . Kupiliśmy ostatnio nawet kilka butelek, by obudzić miłe, festiwalowe wspomnienia :) kolejny artykuł właśnie na temat tego festiwalu jest już w produkcji ✒️ . . Tasting wine from the barrel is like watching a child and imagining which kind of person he or she will turn into. You can guess whether the impetus of his character will smooth down, or if his delicate nuances will eventually fade or evolve... with the same approach I jump into this week: I am planning my imminent trip to Europe (I will be in Netherlands and Belgium in 8 days, then Italy, Puglia, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lombardy and who knows where else) and I am guessing how culturally and emotionally enriched I will come back to the US. How was your weekend guys? Life has been pretty chaotic these days and not a lot of time in between for the good ol gram. How do you make time in your busy schedule for your winegram?! - Our Aussie #winemakers aren’t tied up in strict appellation laws like their European counterparts. This means they can do things like bottle up Meunier as a single variety something you would not easily find in France. - ▪️Main & Cherry Pinot #Meunier 2018▪️ Structure: Light body, feather like tannins and juicy acidity. Serve with a slight chill, perfect for a picnic - Taste like: Sour cherries Strawberries Vanilla pods Orange peel Baking spices Undergrowth - The #grapes are grown just out of Uraidla by the Virgara family, picked from Cemetery Block Vineyard in Piccadilly Valley of the Adelaide Hills. A naturally cooler site, with an elevation 525 metres above sea level, assisting us in maintaining natural acidity in the fruit. - 100% wild yeast was used for the ferment, with 12 days on skins using only gentle hand plunging. - The #wine was then basket pressed into old French #oak barrels and left to mature for 8 months.

Alternative Varieties, wines that fall outside the mainstream. What’s your favourite and why? - Pinot Meunier is high on my list, similar to its famous cousin Pinot Noir but but with a rustic charm. - ❤️The Collector Pinot Meunier 18, fruit is sourced from the Courabyra vineyard, sits on a west facing slope on deep weathered granite soils near Tumbarumba, at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. - Pretty and perfumed, total seduction. Cinnamon spice, cherry pie, orange peel and strawberries. An undlying savouriness, raw mushrooms and turned soil that creeps up on you. On the palette, tight and tart with sour red fruits, amaro edge, cherry juice and clove-like spice. Powdery fine tannins, zippy acidity, a beatifully structured and balanced wine exhibiting a long lingering finish. Pairs nicely with Cacciatore quickly pan fried in olive oil (Instagram, we need a salami emoji)
