My 3rd OB appt was today Tate’s HR was 150 & he’s still just hanging out in my right uterus (yes I have two).
Our anatomy scan will be at our next appt in 5 weeks & I am so excited to see him again. My 1st 2 appts spoiled me so much, because I have #uterinedidelphys I got an ultrasound each time.
If you are up to date on Grey’s you may have heard of UD. Some friends told me there was an episode recently where a lady was dx with it.
Basically it’s a birth defect where my uterus didn’t form correctly & due to that I have ✌! It has been estimated that UD affects about 1 in 3000 women. ♀️ I’ve found that most ladies that have it usually don’t personally know other ladies with it. I feel very thankful to know of two ladies that have previous successful pregnancies with UD. There is also an awesome UD FB group that I am apart of with over 300 hundred ladies in it that I have found so much support from.
And that’s a wrap folks! Last long run of my training cycle!!! Feels so great And this was a great run OUTSIDE!! Weather was amazing and I can’t wait for next weekend to be behind me. I sure hope we have similar weather like we had today!! I hope I see all my @gcm_toledo friends next weekend!
.
I hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful Easter ✝️
Yesterday I ran with quarter sized snowflakes landing in my eyes. Tomorrow I’ll line up to race likely in shorts and a tank. Makes sense in Virginia.
At the end of last year, I managed to grab a few PRs and felt pretty good about my fitness. This year? Welllll, it’s been interesting. But, I plan on lining up with gratitude, grit, and heart and seeing where that takes me.
Boston you never fail to test my limits but I still love you and thrilled to be able to share you with my big girl! 2014 the blistering sun, (2016 a new baby), 2018 the arctic monsoon and 2019 gave us humidity! Was 23 seconds off my goal (darn that Porto potty stop) but still bringing home a new #PR so the redemption box is checked! #runcltrun #nuunlife #teamnuum #hshive #withoutlimitz #zensahambassador #oiselleteamnc #oisellevolée #bostonmarathon #marathonmonday #motherrunner #runfearless #neversettle
I could see her from the last .2, and did my best to just run to where she was. I knew that once I got to her, I’d be done, both our goals achieved. Knowing my sister was waiting for me, before even getting water, made that last bit one of the easiest parts. •

I’m a thinker. I’m a feeler. I experience my surroundings so very deeply. And sometimes I just can’t quite put into words what those surroundings mean to me. So as I continue to reflect upon Boston and begin to write down a recap, I wish only this for myself - to remember how amazingly happy I was the ENTIRE weekend as a whole. This picture, at mile 10, seeing Ryan for the first time, is me literally bursting happiness at the seams. “To come out on the other side of of the 26.2 miles I’ll chuck at you is a privilege, and the second you forget that is the moment you might have missed the point of lacing up to begin with.” Love, Boston per @baklinerunning ... More to come.

if you aren’t flailing your arms around like a demented bird on a steep downhill.... you’re doing it wrong
.
bombing a steep or technical descent is one of my absolute favorite parts of trail running ⛰ sure, it can lead to blown quads or a painful spill on the dirt, but it’s just so much fun! here’s a few of my favorite tips for downhill running:
.
⚡️ don’t be afraid to use your arms! by keeping your arms out to your sides and not tucked in like you would normally, you can use your arms as counterweights if you start to trip (sort of like a rudder on a boat). i’ve saved myself from falling over countless times by throwing my arms in the opposite direction that i’m falling in
⚡️ take short, quick strides! the faster you move your feet, the less likely you are to fall. by the time you start to slip or trip, you’re already onto the next step! my cadence on downhills has reached into the mid-200s, which is much higher than it would be on flats or uphills
⚡️ try to aim for a forefoot or midfoot strike! it’s tempting to land heel first, but by landing on your heels, you increase braking forces. increased braking forces means increased force on the eccentric muscle contractions happening in your legs, which is what leads to blown quads & DOMS!
⚡️ pick up your feet! focus on high knee drive & lifting your feet up more than you would on a flatter trail. getting lazy & shuffling along is a recipe for disaster, especially on a technical descent. it’s easy to catch your foot on a rock or a root and slam face-first into the ground hard (trust me on this one...)
⚡️ most importantly: HAVE FUN WITH IT! there’s nothing quite like the feeling of flying down a steep hill, gliding over rocks and roots and feeling unstoppable
