Watercolour studies. Uni break is coming to an end. I have thoroughly enjoyed some time in my studio but tomorrow I am back at the books. I am currently in first year Bachelor of Arts at @victoriauniversity

Hey everyone! This week is my final week as a law clerk at Stanely Mosk Courthouse! Where did the time go?! To be perfectly honest, I cannot wait for school to start and to get back into the student mode. Here are some of the things I learned this summer -Proper Court Conduct- Judges like to gossip not only with each other but with their employees. If they find someone is not respectful or a good attorney, they will spread that person’s name around. So, therefore, always try your best and stay professional. -Humanity-Being in this field it is important to never lose your sense of humanity. When people come into courtrooms, it is not because they are happy to be there. People come in because they have problems in their lives that need to be solved and we must pay attention and help. -Research- In law school, even after finishing my first year I did not feel comfortable with my research skills. However, after having weekly research tasks, I have found myself being more confident in my work and skills. It's just important to remember that practice makes perfect. This is a hard profession so it is normal to need consistent practice. To finish this post I would like to talk about a case I worked on. I was apart of an unlawful eviction case in which the plaintiff attempted to conduct a summary judgment. Even though the judge agreed with him, I thought the outcome should have been different. Therefore, I went on my own and did research, presented it to the judge, and changed the outcome of the case. So it's important to keep in mind that even though you may not be as experienced or strong as others in this field, just be open to learning and trying new things. My efforts led me to change the outcome and because of that, the defendant was able to have a fair trial and won!
