Selling tacos is pretty high on my list of favorite jobs ☺︎ . For the past 3 years I’ve been living and traveling around the world. Work, save, travel, repeat is how I do it. I work in tourist areas by the beach for 3-6 months, in the US or Australia. The money is good and there is always hospitality work. Plus I’m obsessed with living by the ocean. Then after a few months of crazy saving, I pack my bags and go blow it all traveling. . Over the past 36 months I’ve had 6 jobs. And after some calculating I’ve figured out that I’ve worked for 22 of those months and traveled for 14! . I live a very minimalist lifestyle to achieve this and put most my paycheck to savings every week. But the result is I get to work less and play more. ☺︎ . These past 3 years have taught me you really can do whatever you set your mind to. Find your passion, chase the life you want, work hard at what you do and everything will work itself out! . This job is actually quite fun and I get free tacos! The money I’ve been saving here over the past 3 months will be used to travel West Coast Australia in 2 weeks! .

It's been 6 months since I quit my job, sold/donated all my stuff, and moved out of my apartment in San Francisco to start a life of travel. I stopped in to see friends/fam around the US, went over to Australia to experience festival season, hiked and camped around Tasmania for a month, went to Asia for the first time to explore crazy India for a month, and relax in Bali for 10 days, then returned to Australia for one final festival. Now I'm moving to a new city with no job, apartment, or network of friends for the second time in my life and I'm so excited to root down in tropical Cairns, Australia for the winter! In these 6 months of travel I've spent about $6500 which is less than I would have been paying on rent in SF! I feel so much less stressed, and my immune system is responding by keeping me feeling so much healthier. I feel ecstatic about life right now. I have tuned in with the right frequency and am just letting things flow and unfold. TIPS PARA BUSCAR TRABAJO EN AUSTRALIA ✨ (Guardá este post) ✨ Buscar trabajo puede ser agotador, pero como alguien que no se quedó quieta desde que pisó Melbourne me tomé la libertad de escribir estos útiles consejos ✨ -Armá un CV para cada perfil de trabajo que apliques. -Una mentira piadosa sobre experiencia previa no lastima a nadie (siempre y cuando la puedas sostener). Sin experiencia NO TE LLAMAN. -No descartes, aplicá a todo lo que encuentres, lo importante es empezar a generar ingresos lo antes posible. Mi amiga @magaymillennial empezó de dishwasher y hoy es chef en un famoso restaurante (mujer que inspira ✨) -Armá un perfil en las aplicaciones más populares para conseguir empleo (Gumtree, Seek, Backpackers Jobs). Toma su tiempo, pero lo vale! Yo conseguí uno de mis trabajos de esta forma. -Hacé contactos ‍♀️ Relacionarse y abrirse al mundo a veces puede sorprendernos. Nunca sabes con quien te podes cruzar en el camino. (Sí, mi nuevo trabajo lo conseguí gracias a @ailenrosolia , que me recomendó para tomar su antiguo puesto) -Revisá también los grupos de Facebook que ofrecen trabajos, hay que agotar todas las posibilidades (más CVs entregados significan más chances de conseguir entrevistas). -Caminá la calle. Entrá a todos los lugares que te gusten. Pensá que en Australia hay mucha rotación de personal. Quizás ahora no están buscando, pero mañana ¿quién sabe? Yo seguía recibiendo llamadas semanas más tarde ‍♀️ -Practicá tu inglés. Poder hablarlo abre más puertas ✨ EN EL TRIAL (día de prueba): Mostrarse activa/o. Tu empleador busca que seas productiva/o, que tengas sentido de urgencia. Si no hay nada para hacer ¡INVÉNTATE ALGO! ( primer comentario) I couldn’t choose better photo to talk about what I’ve heard most since I arrived to Australia almost 9 months ago “Visa is so difficult to get! I can’t go!” and “Living in Australia is the best I’m so jealous” I answered “Absolutely, not” to both • It’s hard to get a permanent visa in Australia but not a temporal one. I’m on my Work and Holidays Visa and was easy to get just following all the steps. Student Visa is also very effortless but quite more expensive. • Australia is not what people said to me. I’m tired of who say how perfect is every country without telling drawbacks. Australia is not a dream or a flowers pathway. If you don’t have a permanent visa (and for sure, high English level) is gonna be pretty difficult find a good job that you’ll be qualified for. Minimum wages are high but also living cost and difficult to find quality food for a cheap price. Even you don’t mind working in a farm or hospitality, please realise there also are heaps of people thinking same. • My recommendation is come with lots savings, buy a van and go around, push yourself hard to achieve what you want and travel outside the cities is where kangaroos, koalas, surf, diving and other beautiful things that you couldn’t find in anywhere else in the world are. I wish someone would’ve told me that instead “Australia is cool, so many jobs, cities are the best and I won’t like to live”.
