Grip Width For Biceps
Click @mitakadi_ for more
The grip-width you use on barbell curls can make all the difference on your biceps growth. Using a standard, shoulder-width grip uses both the long (outer) head and short (inner) head of the biceps fairly evenly. The wider you go from there, the more short head emphasis and the narrower you go, the more long head emphasis.
Be sure to include in addition to shoulder-width grip curls, some wider-than-shoulder-width-grip curls to place extra stress on the short head (building the bicep width)
and close-grip curls to place extra stress on the long head (building bicep peak).
This will help you bring up the size of each biceps head, which together will create larger biceps.

Let’s talk about seeing PROGRESS
There are specific strategies we can use to help speed up physical progress, and most of it relates to being intentional about the mind + body connection in each workout. Connecting the mind + body during exercise is a skill that takes time to acquire, but its SO worth the extra effort.
_
For example, when we talk about lower body progress in the actual shape (grow the ) it is imperative to be super intentional about your effort in your lower body workouts by training your glutes + hamstrings to contract when your quads try to take over.
_
REAL TALK: For me, my core is the most challenging to engage. I always have to be super aware when I’m trying to contract my core
_
❓Do you find yourself struggling to connect certain muscle groups?

HOW MUCH MUSCLE CAN YOU BUILD A YEAR NATURALLY?
-
If you find yourself a few years into training and you're realizing the rate at which you making muscle gains is significantly slower than when you started, take a look at this. -
When everyone starts training, they experience newbie gains, which basically means no matter what you train or how much, you're going to gain a pretty significant amount of muscle (as long as you're consistent). In fact, in your first year of training alone, you can put as much as 20-25 pounds of muscle. But unfortunately, newbie gains don't last forever.
-
After your first year of training, the rate of muscle gain in your 2nd through 3rd year of training is going to drop off to around half of what is was your first year, and when you become advanced (4+ years of training), you'd be lucky to gain as much as 2-3 pounds of muscle a year. While it does suck that muscle growth slows over time, don't let it demotivate you from still working out. Many people believe that they are doing something wrong because they are gaining as quickly as that first year. It's not your fault. Building muscle just naturally get tougher and slower as you go on.
-
You can still make significant gains as an advanced lifter though. It's just going to take more time. That's why the people with the most muscle growth in the gym are the ones that stayed consistent and patient.
