Be willing to WAIT Comparisons make me cringe because there is never the whole story of what happens in between. For most people it’s a lot of UPS and DOWNS mixed with progress and more TIME than they prefer
.
I’ve talked to so many frustrated runners/cardio bunnies about something I experienced, but I want to be clear: the picture on the left was a HUGE “UP” for me! Boston Qualifying was a bucket-list and wouldn’t trade it!
.
BUT after that training cycle, I was ready for a change— I was feeling tired, slightly frustrated with how I knew my metabolism had seemingly slowed and wanted the back. I also knew I wanted to make an investment in muscle + metabolic rate! So I did— and it’s HARD because you tell yourself that less cardio and more food is going to have the opposite effect, but I can promise you that increasing food has been key for me and macro counting has given me the guidelines to do that because it can be a little scary!
.
I’m NOT going to make cardio ♀️the enemy or running the villain because I LOVE them, BUT understanding the correlation between metabolism, nutrition and weight training ⚖️ can be a GAME CHANGER for runners and so many frustrated women
.
My point is that I may look different, but I was EQUALLY happy with my accomplishments and you DON’T have to stop running/ spinning/ “OTFing” to reach physical goals
.
BUT when so many of you seem nervous to give up your extra cardio classes or OTF and plan on doing BOTH during #tightertogether, I am going to encourage you to resist the urge, stick to a plan, and watch your composition change— you can’t push from every angle and expect your body to recover and grow⚡️
.

✨ONE PAN BAKED CHICKEN AND SWEET POTATOES ✨
Y’all this plate just screams summer time and I love everything about that.
I’m also all about ease in the kitchen with meal prep and this meal is no different!
Preheat oven to 400
Spray baking pan
Place chicken breast on pan (sprinkled a touch of olive oil, salt, pepper, @traderjoes everything bagel seasoning, and poultry seasoning on top)
Cut sweet potatoes in half (drizzled a touch of olive oil, salt, and pepper on top)
Baked chicken for 30 minutes and took it out to set aside.
Baked the sweet potatoes for an additional 10 minutes to get tender (bake until you can stick a fork in them)
When the sweet potatoes had 6 minutes left, I tossed the microwavable green beans in the microwave.
Topped the sweet potatoes with 1/2 tbsp @kerrygoldusa butter, sprinkled ground cinnamon, and @barneybutter almond butter!
Ta-Da! Meal prep for 3 nights complete!

It’s really easy to create your own reality in a place that allows us to pick and choose what gets seen and what doesn’t. And we all KNOW that when we get on here, but I think subconsciously we absorb a lot more than anticipated

I’m not the best with tying my rambling thoughts together— and this could be applied to MANY areas of life, but just remember we’re all a lot more similar than we are different. I share aspects of health & fitness because it’s my strength, but don’t think that I don’t struggle with PLENTY of weaknesses/faults/fears/insecurities

So if you haven’t figured out your macros, or you slept through an alarm to workout or you snapped at your husband (or missed his homerun at church softball)— it’s not just you ♀️ (the little things and the much bigger things)
