Take your #headstand to the next level
If you're looking to challenge your headstand practice, here is a variation called Mukta Hasta Sirsasana that displays strength and control, and is quite a sight to behold. For this inversion, you will be needing a wall if you're not comfortable with falling.

To enter this asana:
Begin on a tripod or a short table top position Tuck your chin to your chest and bring the back of your head to the wall
Lift your knees above the ground and walk your feet in
Change your hand position and straighten your arms. The traditional variation is arms extended with palms up but if you're trying this for the first time, I recommend putting your palms down
Lift one leg up to the wall and push through your hands, reaching both legs up to the wall
To get off the wall, just bring your feet down

Back pain - what poses you do? Usually all other poses just add to the stiffness of muscles but halasana and not the perfectly aligned one, but with curved out back (like the variation I am showing here) helps the most to me. Although when my back is stiff even getting close to halasana can be really discomformatble. .
My back really does feel stiff today, almost like I will get a back muscle cramp so I decided to do some halasana variations to show you. .
This video is 4 times speed up so keep in mind I was doing this really slowly. Breathing deeply through all poses waiting for the release in the muscles. .

Our new yoga game! Kids get to challenge their skills with balancing, patience, and core strength as they try to keep a yoga block on their heads. We played this game several times, with new challenges introduced each time. Spin in each direction, step to the side, and touch your nose, just to name a few! Mindfulness and body awareness are in full effect. This works with little yogis of all ages - from preschool up to tweens. ⭐️
