I can’t even begin to explain how happy I was when I first tried my attachment idea for wings… And it actually worked. I was jumping like an idiot in the room with the tears of joy on my eyes, watching those not-yet-finished wings bouncing up and down on the acrylic stripes. THAT FELT SO GOOD, one of those priceless moments I live for. The main problem of the harness for Mercy was that… Her wings float in the air. Literally. Not attached to the back. Just freaking floating in the air. So the idea of using transparent material - acrylic glass - came to my mind. I just needed thick enough acryl and wings needed to be light enough not to bend acryl too much. 0,5 cm thick acryl was cut in 4 cm wide strips (with help of my dad of course), after that I sanded and polished them, so they wouldn’t have any sharp corners. Then, they were bended with the heat gun to have the same curve as my spine. Another bend was made where they “grow” from the back. After heat-shaping I was able to just slide them under my corset and they stayed there perfectly (added two ribbons on the inside of the corset later, so they wouldn’t move left-right that much). All the weight of the wings goes to the waist bend and it is very well supported by the surrounding corset. Yeah, for this build the corset is a must. PS: I've got this acrylic glass for free, but it was in pretty bad shape, that's why it has a lot of scratches.
