Goya's 'Third of May 1808' is one of art history's most famous painting and an iconic painting in depicting the horrors of war. When we look at the second painting we see what kind of impact the painting had. Picasso's "Massacre in Korea" criticizes USA's intervention in the Korean war and by more or less copying 'Third of May' I think Picasso is trying to point out the seriousness of the intervention. --------------------

Francisco Goya’s "Boy in Red" is one of the greatest paintings ever made in my opinion. It depicts a young, fresh-faced boy with a bird on a leash. In the boy's shadow, we see the murderous, sinister parts of our own minds which want to devour that innocence. This work is inspired by that painting and by the scratchy-ink drawing style of Edward Gory. The original drawing that this print came from was part of the 2018 Cat Art Show in L.A. The prestigious Artillery Magazine reviewed it for an article during the show's run. #franciscogoya #goya #edwardgory #gory #catart #catartshow #screenprintedposter #originalart #ravizupaart

Hacia 1787. Museo del Prado, Madrid.

From the works of Goya, and references to Kubrick’s “Barry Lyndon” and the Marchesa Luisa Casati, comes the hazy romantic perfection of SS ‘07 “Sarabande” collection. #alexandermcqueen #leealexandermcqueen #mcqueenarchive #vintagemcqueen #barrylyndon #alexandermcqueenarchive #britishfashion #franciscogoya #marchesacasati #fashiondetail #fashionreference @mcqueen_vault
