Exploring Bryce Canyon before sunrise.. The headlamp light dancing across the canyon walls was super eerie. We had this normally jam-packed place to ourselves and it felt incredibly still.

OK, I have to confess something. But,warning... this is going to be a “Gina” story. (What Matt “lovingly” calls my stories with lots of background information before getting to the point!) ⁣ ⁣ So, yesterday @weliveonabus shared their crazy neighbour stories (ie: Naked Neighbour, Hammer Neighbour…) and asked for people to share their crazy neighbour stories. I sat for a minute and thought, “ We have lovely neighbours! Nothing to complain about here!” And then it hit me….WE are those crazy neighbours!!! ⁣ ⁣ I mean, we have three beehives in our backyard, one of which did swarm into the neighbours tree and yard. (To be fair, we rescued the hive and said neighbour!) We randomly had 450 strangers come tour our backyard last week for the Garden Tour and took up ALL the street parking for the weekend. We keep a spare mast down the side of the driveway for Hobbes the Hobie. We tap our maple tree in the front yard every March and kind of pretend that our front yard is our “sugar bush” and are in full on maple syrup production mode with a boiler going all day long. We constantly have life jackets hanging off the railing to dry…..I think I have made my point! I am sorry neighbours! ⁣ ⁣ So, what is the point of my story? Well, yesterday we made amends. We got to harvest honey for the first time from one of our hives and we made a honey peace offering to our lovely neighbours! I think it worked! They smiled anyways! I mean, who doesn’t love fresh honey!! ⁣ ⁣ For the bee lovers out there (or honey lovers for that matter) who want to see how extremely satisfying it is to extract honey from the comb, check out our stories! ⁣ ⁣ So, now I have to ask the same question...What is your crazy neighbour story? Day 125: 1,360 miles out of 2,192 I've been experiencing so many sunsets and sunrises lately. It's rarely planned, it just happens because I take tons of breaks throughout the day and usually end up somewhere with a great view. Last night was no exception. The New Jersey boardwalks have been an Appalachian trail highlight that I've anticipated for two years. Watching these beautiful landscapes unfold in front of me is hard to explain. You can look at hundreds of hours of video or as many photographs as you want, but you'll never fully appreciate these places until you've experienced them yourself. It's hard to explain why walking miles of 2x4's was so exciting. It could have been the lightning bugs that surrounded me as the sky turned neon. It could have been the cool air from the marshes below touching my sweaty body. Maybe it was the frogs and birds that sang to me as a full moon hoovered above. It may have been the hollow sound of the boards with every step I took. It could of been an unattainable dream becoming actualized after so much sacrifice. Appalachian trail, you are so special. No one can ever take away the things you've given me. I hope I have the strength and patience to pay forward everything you've blessed me with.

Eyes front, Sam It’s strange to think that this time next week we will have been back in the U.K. for a few days. As excited as we are to go home, we will forever be grateful for our time in Australia. It’s taught us that there is a different way of living, beyond the 9-5 grind and typical salaried role. It’s taught us that we don’t need the latest phone or the nicest car or an endless wardrobe of new ‘must have’ clothing. We’ve lived in the same basic ‘wardrobe’ of second hand clothes now for over a year. We no longer want to keep pushing for the next pay rise or a 5* luxury life. We just want enough to keep travelling, keep learning, and keep seeing the light of a million different sunrises, stars, and sunsets reflected back in each other’s eyes ❤️
