Although the image below has a pill capsule next to it, I classify ‘poisons’ as more than just the over the counter drugs.⠀ ⠀ Part of my personal and family journey to Wellness was reducing the toxic load in my home as well as in my body.⠀ ⠀ When I started to look for answers as to why I was so sick and not getting answers from Drs, I started to read labels of not just food but also my personal care products to explain my unexplained rashes on my arms and legs.⠀ ⠀ It was disturbing... the ‘poisons’ were everywhere.⠀ ⠀ For example, the cleaning products in our home, the personal care products I used on and in my body - I won’t get started on antiperspirants in this post, but let’s just say I lose my mind over them.⠀ ⠀ I had never stopped to think about the tampons I used or the over the counter creams on my shins for psoriasis that developed in pregnancy but had never left after my 3rd child... but once I started looking I couldn’t stop.⠀ ⠀ But let’s be clear! I am not rubbishing all medications.⠀ ⠀ Do I take anti-depressants ✅⠀ Do I take thyroid medication ✅⠀ ⠀ But do I take the psoriasis medication the Drs prescribed? ❌⠀ Do I take the acne medication that the doctor tried to tell me I needed? ❌⠀ What about the hormone supplement ‘the pill’ ❌⠀ ⠀ No, I do not take any of those and why?⠀ ⠀ Well, I found ways to treat or manage these without the unnecessary medication that the Drs tried to have me on by switching and swapping not just food but also my personal care, supplements, and home cleaning products.⠀ ⠀ Throughout my studying and education to become an Integrative Health and Wellness Coach I learned that sometimes the treatment of the root cause of my own symptoms did not require medication, but actually simple switch and swap of our home products and sometimes my own medications... ie did you know some thyroid meds CAUSE acne! Pretty little bottles ✨ These four beauties are on my bathroom vanity and I use them every single day! ⁣ ⁣ Here’s what they are (from left to right): Endoflex essential oil blend to help support my thyroid, adrenals, and overall hormone health. Vitamin C facial toner with Frankincense. Perfume/deodorant/air freshener with Patchouli, Orange, and a few other oils that I forgot (I need to start writing these blend recipes down ). Lash and brow serum with Lavender, Cedarwood, and Rosemary. ⁣ ⁣ Pretty bottles aren’t a necessity and I have plenty of bottle and jars I have reused that are far from pretty. But having these four pretty bottles on display in my bathroom has helped me use what’s inside them more! ⁣
