Alright here it goes...
After careful consideration and weighing pros and cons, I have decided I’m going to take a gap year and apply next cycle instead!
During the year I take off, I will still be pursuing my passion. I plan to shadow, volunteer, and work. I will even have the opportunity to improve my MCAT score if needed.
By waiting to apply until next June, I will be increasing my chances of being accepted. Not only will I have the time to strengthen my application, I will also be applying as early as possible. I wanted to wait until I got my scores back to send in my application, but with it being so late in the cycle I wouldn’t have very good chances of getting accepted. Thanks rolling admissions.
I never thought I’d take a gap year, but it’s clearly what is best for me and my future career.
If you have any advice on how to be productive during a year off before medical school, I’d love to hear it!
Two weeks. I get my score back in two weeks.
It is what it is, so there’s no point in stressing about it.
I do have a question for you.
Should I wait to submit my application until after I get my scores OR should I go ahead and submit it now to get verified a little sooner. Curious to know what you think.
Thanks friends
✨So gosh darn blessed by this sister, my PICU family, Mom and Dad, and above all else our great God! We just finished our Pediatric Residency Program! ✨✨ Catch us in the NICU AND PICU #⚕️ # #♀️ #medicalprofessional #cheesin •

Don’t you dare give up on your dreams!! You can do this! ✨ Cheers to my cohort, I’m incredibly excited for each of our journeys as pediatric medical professionals. What a gift it is to serve kids and their families!
I know I’ve been a little inactive on insta, but I’ve been taking a break from pretty much everything before classes start back.
Not going to lie, I got really burnt out with studying about a month out from my MCAT. However, I kept pushing and now it’s been almost two weeks since I finished the test!
This break has been nice, but now I’m getting a little bored of doing nothing. I’m honestly looking forward to the fall semester.
What have I been doing the last two weeks? I’ve been wrapping up the final details on my application, drawing (a LOT), reading, catching up with friends, and binge watching Netflix.
⚕️ I haven’t posted for more than two weeks because I’ve been so occupied with reaching my goals each day ☀️ .
Goals like:
1. Studying harder and more
2. Eating healthier
3. Becoming more structured in my overall life.
So I thought I’d like to try out something new with my Instagram.
It’s mainly been about studying, study techniques and basically advice for how to improve your studying.
I will still continue doing that, because it looks like many of you like my content.
But I also want to try something new out and experiment with my content. I want to implement more personal experiences, failures and successes with you guys.
Many of you share with me through DM’s your failures, worries and trials, and I want to be more transparent with you guys and show you that you’re not alone.
I hope you will like the way I will shape my Instagram accounts feed and content in the future, and if you’re not, please feel free to let me know anytime through DM.
I like listening to your requests!
