I'm gathering my own money down already Reposted from @modolaautogeles - Prior 2018, I believed and would say Tailoring, especially operating the manual sewing machine was the most difficult skill to acquire. Many Tailors I met even crowned my fear by describing how Apprentices would spend months learning how to use the sewing machine. So that was just a no-go area for me. Fast forward to when I started autogele making, I would always take the fabrics to Tailors for sewing. But one major issue I had was the refusal of Tailors to take corrections; only very few of them would give you exactly what you want (don't come for my head, biko, I have headache on my legs). So one day, I got to my heavily pregnant Seamstress' shop and the Apprentice that always did my jobs for me had traveled. Even my Preggy Seamstress had a job to deliver; there was no one to do my own sewing. And there were about four (4) vacant sewing machines staring right at my face. Ahh! Mogbe! Finally my own eyaff met me! So that same hour, after much deliberations, with encouragement from my Seamstress, out of desperation, I stepped on the sewing machine. And guess what? I taught myself how to use the machine that took 'Apprentices months to master' in less than three(3) hours, to the amazement of the shop owner. When I got back home and told my husband I could use a sewing machine, he simply went into his store and brought out, dusted, repaired, and set up a machine(which I didn't know existed) for me. See how what I went looking for in Sokoto was right there in my sokoto! So, I challenge you this moment. Whatsoever you set your heart to do, you can do it. Around early 2018, I met a lady while roaming the streets of Facebook. She came asking whether I could teach her autogele making(online cos we live in different states). As an advocate for female empowerment, I agreed and even declined any form of payment from her cos as at then, she was a full housewife. When we started the journey, I motivated her in my own little way. And now, she has also incorporated some other businesses. I look forward to the day I will meet her in person so as to have a taste of her 'amazing peanuts'(her latest product).
