France 1981 player shirt, adidas Ventex production. This shirt was worn by the Saint Etienne legend Gérard Janvion the month before my date of birth on the 25th March 1981 during the match between Holland and France played at Stadion Feyenoord in Rotterdam. The match was valid for World Cup Espana 82 Qualifiers Group 2 and ended with a defeat for “Les Bleus” 1-0 thanks to a free kick realized by Arnold Muhren. Janvion played the full match. Les Bleus had their revenge few months after when they defeated the Dutch in the retour match in France. Les Bleus gained qualification to World Cup Finals together Belgium while the Orange didn’t take part to. Gérard Janvion represented his national team 40 times from 1975 until September 1982. As I said he was a symbol player of Saint Etienne collecting 301 caps with 8 goals. He won with “Les Verts” three French Championships and four National Cups before moving to PSG for three years.
