The A6, in which A is for Alfieri Maserati and 6 for six cylinders, also spawned a road-legal car. The first one to arrive was the A6 1500, but the updated A6G 2000 model was far more successful. In 1954, the A6G 2000 was updated, changing its name to the A6G/54. Originally bodied by Frua and Allemano, the A6G 2000 also received a Zagato body in 1956, a collaboration that resulted in a lighter and more aerodynamic car. Iso Rivolta Griffo 7.4lt (1972) . After the Isetta, Iso wanted to join the big boys and produce their own supercar. To this aim, Iso garnered the talents of Giotto Bizzarrini, the man largely responsible for the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, to build it a sports car. Iso built the 2+2 coupe which featured a long sloping bonnet, under which they stuck a Chevy V8. The 5.4lt V8 was similar to those fitted in the Chevrolet Corvette. Its-synchromesh four-speed gear change was operated with a central floor mounted stick shift. An international hybrid of sorts, Iso Grifos sported fantastic Italian styling and substantial Corvette muscle that grew from the 5.4 liter V8 in 1963 to a whopping 7.4 liters in 1970.  This car counts itself among the latter, 1 of just 24 Series II cars built with the 7.4 liter 454ci engine.  As a Series II, this Grifo also bears a revised front end with flip-up headlights. Capable of putting out 395hp, the big coupe could rip up the 0-60mph in around 5.2sec and on to a top speed of 175mph. With its high price and elegant Italian lines, the Iso had an absolutely gorgeous interior which typified pure European exotic style. The final nail in the coffin for the Rivolta came in 1973 as the whole supercar market was decimated with the energy crisis. Ford Mustang "S" Code 390 GT Fastback (1968) . Frequently overlooked by those chasing mighty Cobra Jets and K-Code 289s is the 390CID 'S-Code' Mustang, produced with little fanfare between 1967-69. That relative lack of collectors’ attention may well make S-Code Mustangs the market’s unsung hero. Although the 390-inch V-8 is a pound or two heavier than the thin-wall 289, its redesigned inlet manifolds and better breathing resulted in an impressive output of 325 horsepower and 427 pounds/feet of torque.
