1 ó 2? “Las Tumbas” En el año 2066, las tumbas ya no son lo que eran en 2016. Actualmente, mucha gente ha perdido la fe en Dios. La religión ya no es lo de antes. Pero la gente sigue enterrando a sus difuntos, cosa de pragmática. Aunada a la moda que se hizo latente desde el 2052 por las tumbas electrónicas. Estas tumbas narran historias, y la gente viva pasa horas frente a sus computadoras seleccionando canciones, historias y videos de los acontecimientos importantes en su vida. Para que al morir, su tumba electrónica sea visitada por familiares y amigos que van a presentar sus respetos. Esta fiebre por las tumbas electrónicas se hizo accesible a todas las clases sociales, incluso a las de menos recursos, cuyas tumbas están repletas de anuncios de coca-cola y automóviles. Yo iba al cementerio casi todos los días. Visitaba a mi esposa porque era lo que me daba la fuerza de levantarme y combatir la enfermedad de la vejez. Ver diariamente los videos que ella había seleccionado con tanto entusiasmo, ofuscaban la debilidad progresiva propia de la senectud. De la tumba electrónica de mi esposa, me gustaba sobretodo, la parte que narraba la historia de ella y de mí juntos en nuestra juventud, musicalizada en el fondo por canciones que a los dos nos encantaban. A mis 77 años, en ese caótico 2066, conocí en el cementerio a Carlo, un muchacho de 23 años que visitaba a su madre regularmente. Curiosamente, Carlo no sólo visitaba la tumba de su madre, sino prácticamente todas las demás. Este fue el error de su vida, considerando que se obsesionó con la de una chica que había muerto a la misma edad que él tenía en ese entonces. Y yo seguía yendo todos los días, y ahí estaba él, mirando una y otra vez el video de la chica que duraba horas, tal vez días. Ahí dormía y ahí se alimentaba, y a eso rebajó su existencia. Pronto se dio cuenta de que los familiares de la chica venían aproximadamente cada dos semanas, en domingo. Así que esos días, iba a la tumba de su madre, mientras lanzaba miradas furtivas a la tumba de la chica, en espera de que ellos se fueran y él pudiera regresar a ella para seguir descubriéndola.
