4 miles this evening with my crew. It’s perfect running weather here in VA! I was at a 10:49/mi pace at mile 2 but then my @garmin died so not sure what I ended with. I did feel strong the whole run and even ran up hills that I’ve been run/walking since Mark was born I’m heading to NYC tomorrow for work and knew I wouldn’t be able to get in a run so went a little longer today. Happy Tuesday!

The face of a gal that ate a whole pack of sour patch kids then swam a mile ‍♀️ balance at its finest am I right?! Anyways I took a break from social media because we went on a little vaca and just got home! While I was gone this was on my heart a lot. My biggest struggle as a momma has by far been my want to protect them from EVERYTHING. It’s so easy to let the fierce love you have for your littles turn into extreme anxiety. So darn easy to do. I experience it on the daily and I’ve learned that I need certain coping mechanisms (that I must do every day) to feel better about not being able to control every single little thing. Exercise truly has turned into my biggest coping mechanism. I laugh all the time to myself about how it used to be mainly about looking good. It’s comical because now I truly rely on it to get rid of negative/anxious feelings. Let me be clear, I don’t ever leave a workout thinking “I’m in so much more control now that I got rid of these anxious feelings.” I leave thinking “there is only so much in my control. A lot is in gods hands. I will not obsess over having full control because a lot of that is an illusion.” Frankly, a solid workout helps me ACCEPT the fact that I can’t control absolutely everything, but I can continue to be a good momma and love my babies whole heartedly. It’s a place where I can empty out all my anxious energy and leave it there Besides consistent exercise it has also really helped forming great friendships with other mommas ( @shannonv526 @rachelkela03 ) and sharing our fears along with our favorite parts of motherhood with one another. It helps to know you are not alone and to hear another mom say “I have this same fear and here is how I deal with it”. Everyone has their struggles and ways of coping. By far this has been my greatest struggle but between consistent exercise and amazing momma friends it’s helped me so so much. Just a realization and something I wanted to share with all of you on here Happy Tuesday!

Meant to share this quick glute + Ab burn sooner butt we had a house hunt come up We're moving to GA this summer! This can also be done with a swiss ball or sliders or probably a few other things! I used this at the end of total body day this weekend(did 3 rounds) but if you're super short on time it can be used alone too! I'm using the deep core hold with all of these besides the split squats, there it's belly pump! Be sure that your core connection is good here and protecting from coning/doming down the midline of your abs. When you see that it's uncontrolled intra abdominal pressure pressing on your tissue. Over time this ends up causing damage that can lead to diastasis recti. I don’t wish being overweight on anyone, but it was a valuable life changing experience for myself. No one worked harder than that girl on the left when she started this journey. I never in a million years thought I was capable of getting to body on right, but I proved myself wrong. . . I think people look at my muscle now and assume I work like a dog and eat nothing. When honestly now is the easy part. The hard part is sticking with something when you are losing minimal weight and are eating way less calories than you are used to. It’s difficult to stay committed when the results are so slow to show and no one notices. We question if it is worth it? . . We never gain all of our weight overnight or even in a month so we can’t expect these types of results when trying to lose. Patience is key. Also you want to make sure what you are doing is liveable and sustainable long term. There is no point in doing something if you can only maintain the lifestyle for a month and then go back to your old ways. Slow and steady will get you long term results that stick . .
