Glass>Plastic ➖Found this little glass jar, most likely a medicine vial, on the beach. I filled it with micro-plastics picked up along this tiny cove in just half an hour. I thought it might take a couple days, silly me. I’m in Costa Rica and itty bitty plastics are just as prevalent here as they are pretty much everywhere I’ve visited. Let’s all keep refusing single-use plastic to help slow down this world wide problem~ ➖I love glass jars because they are such helpful tools when avoiding plastics. Glass is greater than plastic because it doesn’t leach chemicals into your food or beverages like plastic does~ ➖Jars have so many uses: storing and freezing foods, reusable drinking cups, carrying leftovers, refilling your fav package free items, holding homemade cleaning supplies, great for gift giving, reusable water bottles, the list goes on and on~ ➖You don’t need to spend tons of money on fancy jars. I clean jars that once held juices, condiments, and other food items to reuse over and over again. Secondhand stores and yard sales usually have interesting jars for reasonable prices~ ➖How many of y’all have a jar cabinet‍♀️ Let’s keep utilizing those jars to help reduce our plastic pollution. The whole outfit is secondhand (including shoes) but I'd like to talk about the jacket. I saw it in a charity shop about a year ago and was drawn to the lining. I didn't really like the outer fabric but I figured it was cheap enough to try and turn it inside out. It worked! I unpicked the label, slit the pockets open, turned them inside out and then stitched everything back together. I'm wearing the same outfit twice in a row. It happens . I've just counted up the amount of times I've worn this blouse since I started this account in the Autumn - It's only 17 wears! I feel like I have it on ALL the time. . .It's performing poorly. . . Originally from H&M, it's made of cheap viscose with poor stitching and I've had to repair the sleeve twice already. The problem with fast fashion is that it's not made to last. I'm attempting to get #30pluswears out of all my garments and I'm not sure this one is gonna make it. I'll keep trying, though. I bought this a few years ago and since #notbuyingnew I've learnt some real lessons: I would never buy an item like this again. It's the definition of fast fashion and yet, now I own it, I can't throw it away.
