What is your number one challenge in setting boundaries? ⠀ ⠀ Mine was always feeling like the person was going to resent me or not like me anymore when I set boundaries. I thought that when I set boundaries and authentically asked for what I needed, I would be rejected. ⠀ ⠀ I told my client the other day that boundaries are truly an act of self love ⠀ ⠀ When we are not putting ourselves first we let others deplete our energy and take more than they give. Almaas Basic Trust is an inherent quality of the Soul that allows for us to surrender, to accept, and to relax into the benevolent flow and guidance of life. However, our trust can be ruptured by circumstances in our lives leading to greater ego development and a sense that we are separated and must do it all for ourselves. . . When we first read this concept it filled in many blanks for us. It illuminated why some of us struggled to let go of control and despite our best intentions could not trust in the ultimate rhythm of life. Just like in any relationship, if trust is ruptured it’s a process of slowly and lovingly learning it’s safe to trust again. I believe in the healing power of coaching. . I believe in it so much that I do it for a living and I pay people for it. . I work with a phenomenal relationship coach. . She is helping my partner and I access the real love between us. . After 5 years together I’ve never forgotten that I love my partner, but I admit I forget that I like him sometimes. . I know there are always three options for me in life when I’m presented with an uncomfortable circumstance. I can leave it. I can try to change it. I can accept it. . Leaving isn’t an option for me as I am deeply committed and on purpose in my relationship even when it’s extremely difficult. . Changing him isn’t real love. . So deeper understanding and practice of acceptance is where I am growing. . I’m learning in coaching that to love him is to accept him. . I’m learning tools to listen deeply and be curious. .
