I brought Forever home and rescued her 3 years ago after she had been given up for being bad with ppl and dogs. This is her then and now. Different color nose. Different coat. Different eyes. Different body shape. Virtually same weight. It's hard to imagine this is the same dog. In many ways she is not. It's amazing to see the power that love and joy has to transform us not only emotionally, but also physically. Truth be told it took her weeks for her to even let me come near her without her running away or growling at me. She was just so scared and her trust for men so broken. I often catch flack for being "too obsessed" with her. It doesn’t phase me. I question any human who can casually love another human let alone their dog. Never be casual about anything you truly love. What's the point? With regards to my mental health, I have never found tool whether it be medicine, therapy or self help book that has kept me as consistently present and grateful as having a dog does. And it's that daily reminder to be present and to be grateful that has made all the difference for me. I challenge you to find an animal on the planet that gets as excited by you just acknowledging their existence as a dog does. There isn't one. I could go on forever about her. Pun intended. I’m not saying you have to rescue, but at least look at a rescue before you decide to buy a dog from a breeder. Cute, purebred puppies will find homes easily, so please if you are looking at getting a dog... look to a rescue first. Most people make up their mind before even considering getting a rescue. Just explore the option and then make a choice about what is best for you. I used @angelsrescue to find Forever. They have been amazing and even sent out people to help me find her when she was lost. I can't say enough good things about them, but find a rescue group that suits you. I tell myself Forever is one of a kind and to me, she is. But I promise you there are a million more rescues like her who can change your life if you let them. A million more just like her who just need a little love and kindness so they can blossom, so they can thrive. I love you, Forever.

I always feel so fortunate to witness and capture the things I do. Moments like these only come about by spending countless hours in the field, watching, waiting and hoping for an opportunity to witness, let alone capture, something unique and/or special.
