✨Weezer - (The Black Album)✨ You know when you listen to something and you can’t really explain exactly why you like it? This album definitely made me feel that way ⬛️ When B side ended, I was left there sitting on my couch like “What did I just listen to?” Lol but don’t get me wrong, after I processed it all I paused and just smiled ⬛️ I just love River’s way of writing songs, his lyrics are just cooky, fun and most importantly super entertaining! Which is why my favorite song in this is ‘High As A Kite’ (Literally on repeat right now ) I noticed how they are taking such different approach to music in this one as well. Not much of their loud guitars are present, instead they have traded a bit of that for a more synth-pop feel. ⬛️An electric and bubbly atmosphere. With songs like ‘Living in L.A.’ and ‘California Snow’, they really showcase the way they were living at one point. An empty life full of partying, hanging out with other celebrities and pretty much loosing a bit of themselves in the all the lights and glamour the city has to offer. All said in the most dorky, witty way possible. River’s brain is definitely filled with so many unique ideas, and even if they don’t work with many other listeners, I appreciate it and had fun with us well. Oh and look at this Black and Clear wax!! It matches perfectly ⬛️ Musically the guitar riffs and melodies are catchy, the vibe to it is quirky, and the lyrics are peculiar and humorous. ✨Gary Clark Jr.✨ Talk about starting an album with a Bang ’This Land’ is not only the name of this album but the first song in the track list, and let me tell you, he is not here to play around.⚡️⚡️Gary’s latest album demands your attention right from the beginning. He sounds unafraid, full of energy and hungry all through out till the end. You can hear the hustle, giving us his best and most honest self. At one point I had to stop what I was doing, close my eyes and just enjoy his melodies. ⚡️⚡️He stops you right on your tracks from all the intensity and feeling this album contains.⚡️⚡️ Gary goes from giving us his opinions on some of today’s social issues to raw emotions on relationships, connections, love and despair. All accompanied with his enchanting guitar. It’s fascinating. This album really made me excited about music. It fueled my creativity and inspired me in many ways. ⚡️⚡️ ‘This Land’ sounded classic, full of Soul, Bluesy with some hidden Jazz sounds and of course, Rock & Roll. Oh it would be amazing to see this man play live and experience the electricity this album delivers. I got many favorites in this one but the two that stuck with me were ‘I Got My Eyes On You’ and ‘Pearl Cadillac’. They were delivered with such ease. He sounds sincere, charming, smooth, and silky, total sensual R&B vibe. His best work yet. So, with all that being said, I highly recommend this album to you all. ✨Foals✨ Part 1 Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Today (#messyhairdontcare ) I decided to give something that’s typically not my first choice in music a try, and a lazy Sunday is perfect for that. I had heard of Foals before but never really gave one of their albums a chance, until now. Super glad I did by the way hehe ☺️ So, I laid on my couch, I put this record on and let myself just dive into it. My first thought was synth-pop, an indie and cosmic atmosphere that I really ended up enjoying. Their opening song was melodic and simple, but then ‘White Onions’ came on and it was like a shot of adrenaline. In some songs, for example ‘In Degrees’, I felt a little bit of some 80s electronic feel even. Made me think of hot summer days, going out to festivals with friends. I was mostly attracted to their lyrics though, you wouldn’t know by just listening in passing but some of it was melancholic and dark, it was a pleasant surprised. Loved the emotion in it! Specially on ‘Syrups’, my favorite song in the whole album. I really enjoyed how their tempos slowed down, and his voice reflected his lyrics perfectly: “‘Cause I'm about to take flight Please don't ask me why And if the devil wants me Tell him I got high 'Cause life is what you make it You got yours and I got mine” - Over all this album had so many hidden sounds that kept me glued to my speakers and discovering each of their different layers was so much fun and relaxing at the same time. ✨Led Zeppelin✨ #MyLedZeppelin It’s about time I share with you again my love for these creatures that are clearly from another planet The albums that they have created, Robert Plant’s raw voice, Jimmy Page’s electrifying guitar, Jones’ bluesy bass and keys, and John who is the heart that ties it all together and pumps life into the band with his drums, have been something like no other, something special. When I first heard them I remember just being stunned, I was captivated by how free they sounded. I wanted to feel like that all the time. Their music fueled me with energy and emotions, I was in love. This was also around the time I was trying to figure out my own taste in music back in middle school and they were definitely a huge part of that. Music growing up has always been a huge part of my life so when I put their albums on my record player it takes me back to where it all started with me and I want to share that feeling with you all with the playlist I have created with @rhino_records (https://lnk.to/SlayerLZ) You will not find hits in this one, instead I decided to focus on their bluesy side.
