Waking up after your first big sleep in to both of your Rhipsalis in full bloom on a sunny day nearing the end of winter? I know I’m always talking about “I love this plant” and “I love that plant” and “this is my most fave” but “no this one’s my most fave”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But really, (today) Platycerium are my most most favourite. Yep.

Adiantum raddianum cv ‘Charlotte Parvifolium’ This is one of my favourite raddianum cultivars. The pinnules on the fronds are so tiny and graceful. They emerge so curled and bright red, and fill out to form graceful weeping fronds. This fern has benefited from my maidenhair care tips I outlined in a post a few months pack. 1. I potted it into a terracotta pot, 1 size up from the nursery pot i came in (This one is in a 21cm terracotta cone, as it came in a 17cm pot). I also purchased a saucer which is one size up from the pot size (so a 23cm terracotta coloured plastic saucer) 2. I watered it in well from above the first time, then from then on I water it by filling up the saucer when it empties. Notes: - I don’t find this cultivar/nor most of the temperate growing maidenhairs fuss over humidity and I have NEVER misted it before. - I feed it a very weak fertiliser/fish emulsion at a semi regular rate during the growing season (warmer months) - If it does happen to dry out/die then you can can back all the dead growth and re wet the plant. If it is kept moist it should sprout in a short mount of time and then it should be happy growing again! #houseplantclub #maidenhairfern #adiantum #adiantumradianum #minstera

I have become so freakin attached to this giant basket of Hoya carnosa ‘Indian rope’ I don’t think I can ever sell it. It’s the epitome of my Aunty Hoya dreams and quenches my thirst for one like @arianatanabe stunning specimen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I feel like it’s been a hot minute since I sweet talked it (Sunday evening) so I’ve planned a hot date with my Hoya this arvo over some spreadsheets and a bottle of wine. Secrets out but I’m so so glad no one ended up buying my monstrous Monstera deliciosa.
