It’s all about placement, direction and coverage. One wonky lash and you’ll be able to see that in a classic set. It’s easier to hide crooked lashes in a volume set because of the fullness. Shape or Coverage? ———————————— Sometimes as working lash artists, we need to work efficiently and prioritize our time to maintain our schedules. I aim for 100% coverage but realistically there are times (client has a bazillion natural lashes, spring shed, client came late etc.) when it’s just not possible in the time frame without sacrificing something else. For me, I’m a lover of shape and style - so I put my energy into that first. Then I go for coverage. I’d rather have 80% coverage and a set that suits them beautifully than a rushed 100% coverage with a less flattering shape. Why buy a a new dress if it doesn’t fit you properly, ya know? HERE’S MY MEGA SET THAT WON SILVER AT THE ROYAL CANADIAN LASH COMPETITION!!!!! . This is a photo of the set I did for @Rclccompetition and placed SILVER in the 6-10D Category!! I’m so proud of this set! Is it perfect? No. But I can’t wait to get my critique sheet back from the judges and find out ways I can improve! One of my biggest struggles is feeling comfortable enough getting 0.3mm away from the lid!!! I can say with ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE that I have NEVER glued a lash to a clients skin in my entire career. Ever. To me that’s an absolute NO NO. So I’ve always stayed on the cautious side and placed a little further down the natural lash. I think I’m finally gaining confidence to start placing a bit closer & slowly see how that goes! This competition was SO fun and I fell so proud to have placed Silver in my first ever Competition! I’ll be back next year, that’s for sure! Once again: THANK YOU to the incredible competitors who pushed me to be better - because they were! I was so happy to meet so many of you.
