Every single day I have people ask me questions about barbering, business, photography, and all kinds of other things pertaining to life. “How do I get where you’re at” is what everyone wants to know. And honestly most people have this weird look on their face when I tell them the answer is hard work consistently over long periods of time. That’s the key !!! There is no fast popcorn way to get it... NONE!!! You HAVE to put in the work! You don’t get to where guys like @andrewdoeshair and @r.braid are overnight. When I opened my shop, I worked 8:30 to 5:30 cutting hair behind the chair and then I went to my empty space and worked torching floors, ripping out walls, and building bars until 1 sometimes 2am in the morning. I worked between 16-18 hours a day for literally 45 days straight just to START my journey. Of course my beautiful wife @fleetwoodtheteacher and some of my family members were a huge help along the way. But that was only the beginning. Then you have to walk it out day and night every day after that for a long time to barely get ahead. I’ve been in the hair business for almost 10 years. Lately I’ve really been trying to stop talking badly about myself and be proud of who I am. I have come such a long way from that 19 year old girl that started cosmetology knowing no idea what she was getting herself into. I had no self confidence in who I was and honestly didn’t like a thing about me. Now 23, by no means “old” (even tho I say I’m old everyday) I feel like I’ve experienced life quite a bit. Been pushed down a few times, maybe haven’t had the greatest attitude all the time but all that matters is that I’m working on myself and I’m proud of who I am today. I love who I’ve become and who I decide to surround myself with. I’m so proud to say I own my own salon and I am hustling every single damn day. This is a good life and I’m lucky to live it ✨

⚠️Long post ahead⚠️ Read it if you’re blonde or want to go blonder. Going blonde is a PROCESS if you still want hair left on your head. It sucks, I know but it’s the way it works ‍♀️ The darker you are, the longer & harder it is to go lighter. If you have dark hair and want to be platinum, you will have to go through the caramel/honey tones before you get there. It IS possible to go from BLACK‍♀️ to PLATINUM ‍♀️if you trust your stylist, use the right products to heal your hair in between lightening sessions and be PATIENT with it. Going blonder is expensive because you HAVE to use products to heal your hair after lightening or else it can break off This client came in with black hair with her ends fried from a previous stylist (we had to cut all that off because it was so bad) This before/after happened over the course of 4 months, good products and patience. It took us 4 lightening sessions with each appointment being 3+ hours. We added extensions in after we got to our desired color to add in more length! Ladies, it IS possible to get your perfect blonde color but please trust your stylist because we want you to have healthy, beautiful hair because YOU are our walking advertisement
