Day 6 of the #springflingchallenge - Exfoliation. . . For today’s post I wanted to share some of my exfoliation routine. . . I’m not usually a fan of scrubs, but I’ve recently become a fan of dermaplaning. I will typically do that every other week. . . About two nights a week I’ll use an exfoliating treatment. I’m a big fan of acid blends, as I want to get the benefit from a variety of acids in this one step. Especially since I don’t exfoliate nightly. My fave acid is still the Colleen Rothschild Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum. It combines mandelic, lactic, and salicylic acids. I also enjoy the Dr Dennis Gross Ultra Gentle Daily Peel Pads. . . Once a week I like to use an exfoliating mask. If I’m looking for brightening I may use the Oskia Renaissance Mask (fruit enzymes). If I’m having congestion, I may use Colleen Rothschild Clarifying Detox Mask (salicylic acid). . . I’m in a routine of my non acid nights focusing on hydration or retinol. It’s what is working for me now. . . I’m working on an exfoliation video, so stay tuned for that. . . Hey everyone, wanted to take a proSECco to tell you about some of my new babies (I have @opi be there in a prosecco on my nails. I’m so punny ) Took a lil week long hiatus focusing on school & seeing friends & family but im back! I’ve read awesome things about @cosrx BHA blackhead power cream (thank u @beaute.defile for turning me on to this) & love layering my acids with xtra moisture; so naturally I picked up the ultimate moisturizing overnight mask as well. (As well as some other goodies not pictured yet since these are the only two I’ve tried). I was lucky to get these with cash back dollars I had on @amazon. Here are my initial thoughts: . I am v into the idea of a cream targeted for blackheads because it wasn’t until sometime last year that I started to notice blackheads & they drive me INSANE. BHAs (beta hydroxy/salicylic acids) do a good job at breaking up blockages of sebum and dead cells from the skin & pores, ultimately assisting in getting rid of pimples and blackheads. I mainly have blackheads on my nose (although they are elsewhere)& have to be careful w/ acids there because that is a sensitive are for me due to sun damage. so far this seems gentle enough to not dry out that area. . I looove overnight masks & this one has a nice jelly texture that you don’t have to use a ton of. Tbh I haven’t used it enough to give an educated enough opinion, but the few times I have used it, I definitely saw the effects! My skin looked glowy & hydrated when I woke up in the morning. Will keep everyone posted some more, as always...given that I survive this week! #1empty1newbie Ok so I’m cheating a bit with this hashtag, since I had 2 new glycolic acid treatments to choose from, but one was a gift with purchase so doesn’t count... right? Anyway, I finally finished my Liquid Gold! It took me 23 months I probably shouldn’t have used it that long but I didn’t realise it had, in fact, been that long until I went back and worked it out (I started using it before I had my gigantic spreadsheet). It was a once a week treatment, as my forehead found it a bit harsh after a fortnight of more frequent usage (2-3x weekly). I’m not going to go into great detail about how good this stuff is, because it’s pretty much THE glycolic acid treatment, but be assured it’s good shit. So, the newbie. This is 50ml of Liquid Gold Rose, a gentler and more hydrating version of the original. Since it’s smaller and gentler, hopefully it won’t take me so long to use up I’m starting it once a week, and once my 20% mandelic acid treatment from Naruko is empty (I predict 2 weeks), I’ll amp it up to 2x and then finally 3x a week and see what happens. My skin is more resilient to acids now than when I first started the Liquid Gold - I just had a full actives schedule (I love them ) and was happy with the 1x weekly results. I’ve used the Rose once so far; my first impressions are that it smells very strongly of rose, in a good way, it still tingles very slightly (the OG tingles on me for about 5 seconds and then stops) at very first, and that’s it so far ☺️ I didn’t wake up with anything dramatic, good or bad, so we shall see. I have some pigmentation after Australia as well as some closed comedones/texture, so there’s some stuff for it to work on!
