Pro @ Milan Design Week. Day 5 / Fuorisalone / Caffè Populaire
Pro's origins are in Montreal, so, it was natural to make our second-to-last stop in support of Montrealers Lambert & Fils, who - rather than showing at Euroluce - took a giant step by hosting a 6-day concept café at Alcova, an abandoned panettone factory in the northeast of Milan, to show their newest lighting collections together with Milanese studio DWA, who designed the café's furniture (fabricated by Mariotti Fulget). The idea was for visitors to gather over food and drink and talk to one another.
Featured light fittings (in order of appearance):
Colored glass suspensions: Sainte. Design: Rachel Bussin
Opal globes over counter: Laurent. Design: L&F
Suspensions over bar: Hutchison. Design: L&F
Suspension with 4 projectors: Dorval. Design: SCMP Design Office
Cross-shaped suspension: Mile. Design: L&F + Guillaume Sasseville (Red backdrop by Antoine Architectural Finishes)

UTIL was presented to Frank and David back in 2015 still as a concept brand full in aspirations. They got immediately excited about it and presented a concept of a stool they felt could fit the brand's ideas. Blending the most advanced techniques in wood making and high standards in wood craftsmanship Oyster started as a stool that could also be used as an occasional side table manufactured in solid ash.⠀
