I didn't think I'd ever see a copy of this thing in person, let alone own one. That all changed last year when Sandro from Regurgitated Semen messaged me with a list of records a friend of his was selling. He knew I was a German #noisecore fiend and I would likely snatch up a bunch of them, but I already owned about 90% of the stuff on the list. The #ANALFIST - "Flying Sandwich" 7" was one of the few things he had that I was after, and I had been looking for a copy for a decade or so. I don't remember how I first heard of ANAL FIST, but it was during the internet era. I was familiar with Toni Mastropaolo's harsh noise project #FLYINGSANDWICH at the time, but didn't realize it was a nod to the ANAL FIST 7" before that. I just thought it was a stupid name for a project. ANAL FIST are a complete mystery to me. I don't know anything about them other than this one EP, and couldn't tell you if they were involved with other projects before or after this. I just know that they were German and released this one 7" on #jasonrecords in 1989 that claims to have 786 songs on it. There's a small blurb of text on the cover that reads "These bands you can forget: Napalm Death, Carcass, Patareni, Atta, Seven Minutes of Nausea, Fear of God, Electro Hippies... ANAL FIST IS FASTEST BAND OF THE WORLD! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !" In reality, it isn't so fast sounding as there aren't really defined tracks with beginning and ending points. It all sort of runs together as two side-long tracks, not unlike #DECHECHARGE (who released their first demo a year later). This 7" was limited to a one time pressing of 250 copies and always pops up at ridiculous prices. I didn't pay anywhere near the amount people are asking on Discogs, but I went well over the $20 cap I usually set for myself. It was one of those "now or never" situations.
