Haven House: A Getaway in the Rocks . The Haven House is inspired by Lebanese churches and hideaways that were historically carved inside Rocky Mountains and were appropriated with time by their surrounding natural environment, these small grottos remained hidden for centuries. . The challenge was to create a clandestine house with surreptitious experiences in continuous dialogue with nature at several scales and levels. A vertical planted city! . . MM residential building, on a 900 sqm rectangular site at the intersection of two streets in the suburbs of Beirut, posed the question of just how we inhabit the urban environment today. . Pocket Gardens and linear terraces run along four facades creating 360-degree views towards the city. The planted surfaces are buffer zones between the private internal spaces and the immediate context.
