Kyaiktiyo Pagoda also known as Golden Rock) is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a small pagoda (7.3 metres (24 ft) built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by its male devotees.
According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha's hair. The balancing rock seems to defy gravity, as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill. The rock and the pagoda are at the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo. Another legend states that a Buddhist priest impressed the celestial king with his asceticism and the celestial king used his supernatural powers to carry the rock to its current place, specifically choosing the rock as the resemblance to the monks head. It is the third most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Burma after the Shwedagon Pagoda and the Mahamuni Pagoda.
Currently, women are not allowed into the inner sanctuary of the rocks vicinity, maintained by an employed security guard who watches over the gated entrance. Women are permitted in the outer balcony and the lower courtyard of the rock.

Easter Island is situated over 2000km from the nearest land and is home to some of the most mysterious and unexplained human constructions on the planet.
That the Rapanui were able to construct a thousand of these massive figures is impressive, given how hard life must have been for them. (About 400 of the statues are still in the islanders' quarry at Rano Raraku.)
The low-lying island in the South Pacific is 2,000 miles from its nearest neighbors, and volcanic in origin. With the tallest of its main peaks rising just 500 meters above sea level, Rapa Nui is flat, with little in terms of valleys. Though there's some fresh water in crater lakes, the bedrock is porous, and so there are few permanent streams from which fresh water can be obtained. It's a windy place with little reliable rainfall.
There's evidence that there were once extensive palm forests on Rapa Nui, but they were lost due to land clearing and the effects of an invasive species, the commensal Pacific rat (Rattus exulans). If that wasn't hardship enough for the islanders, the island is surrounded by what the study calls an "impoverished marine environment" lacking substantial coral reefs or even a lagoon.
Even so, beginning shortly after the Rapanui arrived from other Polynesian islands in the 13th century, development of moai and ahu began.
It's believed that the hundreds of positioned moai were walked — "waddled" might be a better word — to their final destination from the quarry, with the Rapanui rocking them side to side as the statues were pushed forward. Getting their "hats," pukao, made of heavy red-scoria, placed atop their heads is another puzzle that seems to have recently been solved.
There are several varieties of ahu. Image ahu are platforms with a a dressed-stone sea-wall that held one or more moai. It's believed that these pre-date European contact, and are thus the ahu analyzed in the new study as they best reflect Rapanui ideas prior to outside influence. Other forms of the platforms are, according to the study, "the semi-pyramidal ahu, ahu po'e po'e, and ahu avanga."

“Nature presents itself through the Law of One, Three and Seven.
From the triangle is defined the square, the symbol of foundation represented by the four cardinals and elements (air, fire, water and earth), then supported by the 12 zodiacal signs as 4 x 3 = 12. The four fundamental forces well known in Physics (Electromagnetism, Strong and Weak nuclear forces, Gravity) are represented respectively by the four zodiacal signs (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus). As the material world (the number 4) is supported by the Law of three (Trinity), the Law of seven comes forward with 3 + 4. In this picture is defined the seven chakras, celestial bodies and days of the week.
Finishing the circle with the 27 Hebrew letters. Each letter is a divine emanation of the Source Itself.
For example : a : Alef: 1: Unity, unification. Infinite Light, all-embracing unity. Each Hebrew letter has a numerical value in gematria and is related to one of the 10 sephirots of the tree of life. The picture could have been more completed with that. “ Salah .
“It is The Law of Three Forces,’ or the Three Pure Ones. The 3 Forces of universal law are: active, passive and mutual or neutral. The Christian doctrine of the Trinity (from Latin trinitas “triad”, from trinus “threefold”) which defines God as three consubstantial persons, expressions, or hypostases: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity depicted in Hinduism with Brahma as the creator, Shiva is the destroyer, and Vishnu is the preserver. To the Taoist, it is Yin, Yang, and Tao. The pentagram or five-pointed star that is a symbol of man with his five limbs and five sensory organs as the upright spiritual human who places spirit above his or her animal body. The seal of Solomon uniting the alchemical heavens and earth in the As Above, So Below holy human matrimony. The circumpunct of the soul in which man must climb the ladder of chaos back to true self or order.” By Moe the Gnostic Warrior

The Temple of the Buddha and Maitreya Temple sitting atop Mt Fanjing
You may wonder why Fanjingshan has been listed in the world heritage site in 2018, as a nameless mountain for millenniums suddenly popped out from nowhere. The following storming compliments from National Geographic and other major travelling websites entitle Fanjingshan as "the top 3 best trip in 2019".
The mountain was named "Fanjing", an abbreviation of Fantianjingtu, a Buddhist term which means "Brahma's Pure Land". Whether Fanjingshan was Buddha's dwelling place or not, it is a real pure land to 4,395 species of plants and 2,767 of animals, including many of the endangered.
UNESCO recognizes Fanjingshan as a site considered to have "outstanding universal value". Since 1978, the Fanjingshan national nature reserve has been established and ran for years, sheltering those wonderful creatures there.
Fanjingshan or Mount Fanjing has been a sacred and tranquil site for Buddhists since the Tang Dynasty (618AD-907AD), ranking just behind the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism.
It is believed by a number of Buddhism believers that Fanjingshan is a spot in which one can reach their spiritual enlightenment as Maitreya Buddha did.
During the Ming Dynasty (1368AD-1644AD), 48 Buddhist temples were built on the mountain, many of which have since been destroyed. For those still remained, they are significant sites for Buddhist worshippers around the world.
The influence of Buddhism reached Fanjingshan by the Tang dynasty (618AD-907AD). The local chronicles record the construction of some temples in the area and more temples were built in the Song and Yuan dynasties (960AD-1368AD).
Since Buddhism greatly prospered during the Ming and Qing dynasties in China (1368AD-1912AD), many other temples were constructed in the golden summit area of Fanjingshan.
After decades of Buddhism Renaissance after the damages, Fanjingshan Buddhist Cultural Park was opened in 2010. A Golden Hall that houses a five-meter-tall statue of the Maitreya Buddha was made of gold weighting 250 kilograms and thousands of gems.

Marco Polo called the Bagan temples “one of the finest sites in the world,” and this capital city of the ancient Burmese kingdom is surreal. Perhaps the most aggressive construction project the world has ever seen was churning out temples at the rate of almost 2 a month.
The Bagan temples are actually just thin shells that house massive golden Buddha statues in every one like enormous Russian Matryoshka dolls. Each has barely enough air to breathe.
Half the fun of exploring Bagan is searching through some of the over 4000 remaining temples scattered across the sacred plain and finding seemingly undiscovered temples, secret passageways to hidden floors and sunrise spots that only the monkeys know about.
Here are a few places to check out that you will likely miss if you get stuck in the tour group circuit. 2,200 temple ruins stand in the ancient plain of Bagan and we were determined to find an amazing vantage point from which to witness a picture perfect sunrise.
Bagan sunrises are truly iconic. Temples as far as the eye can see, a morning mist rising over the plain, a rainbow coloured sky and hot air balloons drifting over the horizon. Our mornings in Bagan are some of our favourite travel moments that we’ve ever experienced and are one of the highlights of our Myanmar adventures.
