Rows and rows of different kinds of tomatoes at Growing Opportunity's hydroponic greenhouse farm.
.
This is just one of their many hydroponic greenhouses, where they grow various varieties of and hemp.
.
There is a huge shift to conscious eating. People now a days are more careful what they put into their bodies. Nobody wants to eat fruits and vegetables covered with harmful chemicals and fertilizers.
.
That is the reason that organic products are in demand. The use of hydroponics and greenhouse together is a powerful combination. It minimizes the use and loss of water. Also, increases the growth rate of the plants.
.
Check out my podcast if you're interested in hydroponics, aquaponics or sustainable and organic farming practices. I discuss the economics and the strategies on running a successful organic farm, small or big. You will learn something new. Link is in the bio. ️️

Space tomatoes Answering the age old question. What do eat? No actually, Kim Martin was giving me the tour of her hydroponics greenhouse and showed me this special yellow material researched by NASA that they are using to substantially increase growth. It helps make the tomatoes grow much more quickly. So cool, huh?!
.
What's more cool is that Kim Martin was on my podcast and shared her knowledge, experience and secrets of running a successful hydroponic farm. Growing Opportunity is one of the largest hydroponics green house in Northern Mexico. Link is in the bio.️️

It’s actually crazy that gulper catfish can eat bigger fish than himself

This is the aquaponic setup at Santa Fe Community College in New Mexico. Here, students can observe and learn the systems and science behind aquaponics.
.
As you can see, the plant starts are given nutrient-rich fish water. The huge blue tanks in the background carry Koi and Tilapia fish. Water is circulated from the blue fish tanks to the plant beds.
.
The fish in turn get their nutrients and food from huge algae tanks (I will be posting an image in the coming days of the algae tanks). This is a closed-loop aquaponic setup, which ensures minimum loss of water.
.
Also, the whole setup is enclosed in a greenhouse, which increases the growth rate of the plants.
.

Guess what is growing?
.
I am taking a look inside the hydroponics greenhouse at Growing Opportunity Farms in Alcalde, New Mexico.
.
With the effective use of hydroponics and the greenhouse they are able to produce tomatoes on a huge scale without synthetic chemicals.
.
They can't call hydro organic but they have huge demand in todays farmers markets, kitchens and local restaurants. There is a shift towards eating healthy food grown without any chemicals and artificial fertilizers.
.
This means there can be huge profit in producing this type of grown produce.
.

Bismillah
Aamiin.
Sounding do'a.

This week I had the great pleasure of visiting Kim Martin of Growing Opportunities. I got a tour of their huge hydroponic greenhouses which they use to grow mainly tomatoes.
.
They have been in operation for 20 years as a hydroponic greenhouses, and they are now one of the largest in Northern New Mexico selling vine-ripened tomatoes.
.
On the podcast Kim shares some of her experiences and reveals how pollination happens within the greenhouse, and the successful hydroponics system the use. If you're at all interested in hydroponics and sustainable farming check out the podcast. Link is in the bio.️️

How beautiful is this setup
Repost @aquaraz .
This is a great example of an aquaponic farm. This is a closed-loop aquaponic setup, which ensures minimum loss of water.
.
The nutrient rich fish water is distributed to the plants and the excess water is reused.
.
This accelerates the growth rate of the plants and all of this is organic. If you're tired of buying chemical induced produce, then start growing your own.
.
Start with a small indoor setup. You'll be surprised how rewarding and satisfying it is to grow your own produce.
