// Federal Plaza, Chicago // Chicago has been my favourite city in the US for quite some time now; and while the amazing array of art and architecture available is not the only reason for this, it definitely plays an important role. The Federal Center (1959-1974), for example, is a study in geometric perfection. Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the steel and glass buildings follow an abstract and minimalist approach. All architectural elements align perfectly in a grid with Alexander Calder's scarlet-red Flamingo sculpture providing a beautiful, sinuous counterpoint. Sony a7ii + FE16-35/4

Just by accident I saw this construction from the highway in Germany. ThyssenKrupp test tower for lifts (! - this is company which produces lifts actually), designed by Werner Sobek and Helmut Jahn. It stands in the fileds near small town of Rottweil, seen from far away due to its height of 246 m.
This is Germany.
