So the other day I was sat in Starbucks and had a conversation (in french) with the woman next to me, only to find out she was british right after she‘d left. Nice one. All that brain damage for nothing . No but in all seriousness, it’s crazy how „only“ spending 8 months in a foreign country can improve your language skills compared to 5 years of french in school. When I arrived, i could barely introduce myself (let alone have basic conversations), but thanks to my host children (who didn’t stop talking even though i did not understand a single word they were saying), multiple awkward „could you repeat that in english please?“ and a lot of helpless „i will never on this earth learn how to speak french“ convo‘s with my french teacher (bless her; she‘s a dream), I slowly improved my french to a point, where I can have casual conversations with native french people, read french books and listen to french podcasts. Words can’t describe how happy I am and I’m so glad I took the opportunity and moved to France. Yes, it was absolutely terrifying at first (since i did not understand anything that was going on around me ) but it was so, so worth it in the end. Can’t believe I‘m leaving France in just under a week! Where will I be able to buy french cheese from after?!?

Hey! My parents have been visiting me since last week and yesterday we went to Bournemouth. I have to say that it's definitely more beautiful than Brighton is!! We went on a bus to Poole today, walked at the beach and took a boat to the Jurassic coast. It was sooo beautiful! I can definitely recommend it.
