Our thoughts are with Austin Watson and his family, as he has been suspended indefinitely, and placed in Stage 2 of the NHL/NHLPA joint Substance Abuse and Behavior Health Program for “treatment related exclusively to his ongoing issues with alcohol abuse.” Hoping for a speedy recovery Watty ❤️#smashvillepredators #smashville #nashville #nashvillepredators #austinwatson
This photo says it all. The Predators ended their losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Senators. The Predators gave up a goal within the first 30 seconds, but Pekka Rinne came up big and made 25 big saves after, not allowing anymore for the rest of the game. The goals were scored by Watson, Ellis, and Smith. And the 3 stars were as follows: Pekka Rinne: ⭐️ (25 saves) Austin Watson: ⭐️⭐️ (1 goal) Ryan Ellis:⭐️⭐️⭐️ (1 goal) #smashvillepredators #smashville #nashville #nashvillepredators #standwithus #predators #ryanellis #craigsmith #austinwatson

We are truly at a loss for words. We just don’t understand this decision for a second. Among other things, we’re so goddamn disappointed and appalled by this decision.
•
Why was the NHLPA (players association) supportive in this appeal? Why were the Preds’ so supportive of their player? And, what was the arbitrator thinking? What sort of message does this send kids, fans and society about domestic assault?
•
The NHL doesn’t have a written domestic abuse policy and has decided to judge each incident separately. There was apparently no precedent to look at for this case. #thegist
