Okay friends, HERE's the deal. I'm about to be real and this might be lengthy, so let's get started. Last spring was a medical rollercoaster which ended with a diagnosis of Graves' disease. If you don't know what that is, me either.. Just kiddin, it causes hyperthyroid disorder. Although I did not experience unexpected weight loss or lots of energy,.. I did have tremors, hot flashes, struggled with weight loss, anxiety, random episodes of vomiting, fatigue, and as a result of the Graves', my left eye was slightly protruding outward.. Yeah, freaky. Just when I thought learning all of this information and my current symptoms were the worst of it, I was prescribed a high dose of steroid for my eye that I remained on for 3 months last summer. I put on 20+ lbs last year putting me at my heaviest point ever. At this point, I have a chipmunk face, a body to match, depression, and the anxiety, fatigue, and vomiting episodes are still there. What kind of life is this? I felt my ultimate worst even though my numbers were at a healthy level. Nothing made sense and I felt trapped and lost. Last winter I was pointed toward a book called Thyroid Healing by Anthony William. Now, please only seek out this book if you are an open minded individual. Anyways.. The information in this book is like nothing I have found anywhere online, and it was actually making sense! He suggests a natural way to let your body heal, which I figured, at this point, why not? Early January of this year, I incorporated juicing CELERY every morning (I try my best to stay consistent and feel better when I do) and cut gluten, corn, dairy, eggs, pork, soy, and canola out of my diet. (With the exception of an occasional cheat meal) You guys... I had literally been eating gluten, dairy, eggs, and pork most mornings for breakfast and couldn't remember a day where I didn't have one of those 7 foods. It was a huge life change, but I am so grateful to have found something that WORKS! I get to eat LOTS of fruits and potatoes! I have honestly found some really delicious meals! I've become quite the chef in the meantime as well. .. (See the rest in comments)
